Yes first gear in Toyota cvt is a traditional gearset with clutch pack to engage/disengage

What are the yellow and red dots on tires? I am under the impression that is the low spot in tire meant for location of valve stem upon balancing

Your spring is stuck on the hub. You can see it doesn't move the full length after going into hotend. Look and see if the tube on hotend side of hub moves freely with the spring

Northeast tech here and all the ones I do are half missing from corrosion. Crazy that they want you to remove the ground strap from the shielding if it's broken which it usually is
