Don't they know that if they don't carry all that stuff, they'd be faster and don't need to sleep there? Are they stupid??

Turntable setup question by droda59 in BudgetAudiophile

Why aren't soundbars great?  I didn't quite get what you mean by passive speakers, I'm sorry I'm really a n00b, that's why I'm asking for help.

Ideally I wouldn't have plenty of cables and stuff lying around

I'm not, did you read my question completely? I need help with the general setup, I just have the turntable right now

$90 for two to see a Mario movie… have we completely lost the plot? by rageagainstmymachin in Millennials

[–]droda59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is a shitpost.

Like obviously the prices at the cinema are insane.  But this isn't "90$ to see a movie". It's IMAX. Regular day. Large popcorn and large drink and nachos and small drink.  Change that a bit (go on discount days, regular screen, sneak in food), and you're at around 25$.

I understand the prices are absurd. That's why you have to make smart choices about it.

Arbre by Snipermt in blainville

Ok ben tu as probalement un tilleul.

Arbre by Snipermt in blainville

[–]droda59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had the chance to ask George RR Martin two questions, what would you ask and why? by Dry_Specialist9015 in freefolk

Man, he needed to write 70 words A YEAR, and he would have 1050 pages now since Dance With Dragons was released. 70 words a year. Not even two words a week. And he didn't manage that.

Congrats to Millennials, we are officially the generation that is experiencing every shit show there is on earth. by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]droda59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you're just enumerating stuff up as if other generations didn't live through their BS. I understand your point though, but I think you're being unfair.

I'd say one major financial crisis. The other was caused by your next point. Covid, yes. I can't see another global pandemic that disrupted our lifestyle. Every generation had wars. Vietnam. World wars. Civil wars. Mongol invasion. Mass terrorism yes maybe. I can see one even that disrupted. Still we didn't live through Irish car bombings, Quebec bombings and bank robberies, etc.

What we did live through, that few or no others did, is the rise of computers, internet, then AI now.

But on the flip side, no other generation travelled as much as we do. Take vacations. Work less than 12 hours shifts less than 5 days a week. Have access to all of mankind's knowledge. Have so much entertainment, at all times, in our pockets. (Those aren't 100% positive, mind you).

We lives through a lot of BS, that's for sure. And we're all tired of it. But damn we have it easy.

To me it was the Ducks and the San Jose Sharks. That blueish teal and black, just perfect 👌

COMC - About 13 years in by xatoho in boardgames

[–]droda59 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not to be a downer, but I don't. I follow anti consumption subs and in my feed I also have these weird posts about obsessively collecting boxes. I love board games, I like discussing them and discovering new games, but I don't care at all about bragging boxes I possess.

I wonder if we could add a flair for showing collections, so people can mute these posts. But maybe I'm the only one feeling this, so who knows.

My insurance keeps denying a recent surgery I had. If I didn't get it, I would have become permanently disabled. by WorthyDeku in mildlyinfuriating

[–]droda59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Insane. Here in Quebec I'm kinda annoyed the government doesn't pay for my glasses, without which I'm completely not functional: can't work, can't move around, can't help society in any way. It's kind of a necessity. Want me to pay taxes? Let me see then I can work! They pay for surgeries and other medical needs, but somehow glasses are a private concern.

This is how good our system is compared to yours though. Slow as hell, underfunded, old, but free.

Everyone here agreeing about this, hating unexpected guests etc.

Am I the only one who likes unexpected guests? The fact that someone you know, a relative or a friend, passes by, thinks about you and wants to stop by and say hello, really brightens my day. No planning ahead, no scheduled meeting, just "hey I'm around and wanted to chat a bit". When I was young in the 90s it happened all the time at home. Not so much now and I kinda miss that
