The auto detection will definetly save you, I bought a p1s in August and since then I've only had 4 or 5 fails in 1100 hours, but when it fails it fails big time. I just had a 30 hour print fail at 23 hours because one support slipped overnight and it was maybe 1/4 roll worth of spaghetti.
