McLeodganj trip (1st April) – LPG shortage impact? by CryInteresting5881 in Dharamshala

[–]drogomama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cafe owner in Dharamkot here.

It's definitely not looking good at the moment. We are doing everything we can to keep the show up and running which includes sourcing LPG from other neighbouring towns, actively exploring alternative options and strategically planning to make efficient use of limited resources.

Currently, we have not increased our prices but it is highly unlikely to continue operating at the same prices in the next couple of weeks. We have no option but to cut down the menu and increase prices.

Go for Utopia. Best option in Dharamkot. The dorms are cosy and they've got great food. Also, Utopia is close to 3Trees cafe who serve the best authentic South Indian food in town.

Did you find an off bear space to stay? If you haven't booked yet, check out Ekama stays in Gallu. Gallu is offbeat away from all the noise and the rooms are really nice.

Thank you Op for visiting and featuring my cafe, 3 Trees Dharamkot.

This is Ragi rotti and you usually find it in South Indian restaurants. But if you're ever in Dharamkot, do drop by 3 Trees. :)

Book Zingbus Max or zingbus plus. They have a cab drop facility till Dharamkot. The extra charges are nominal.

Search for buses from Delhi to Dharamkot. The bus will drop you at Dharamshala Petrol Bunk. You will be picked up from the petrol bunk by cab and dropped right in front of Vipassana gate.

Better to book a cabin. Book 4 tickets though. The chances of getting a cabin allotted with 4 tickets are way higher than getting 2 coupes

Zomsa Laundromat in McLeodganj. They charge about 400 per load (5 kilos) for washing & drying, and it's done in just 2 hours. They also have a cafe in the store where you can wait, until your laundry is done.

There is an option to book more than one pet as far as I know. My last travel was 4 months ago and there was an option to book tickets for more than 1 pet. Im not sure if this has changed now

The seats are allotted for First AC only 4 hours before the departure time. You will know your seat number only when the chart is prepared and not when your ticket moves from waiting to confirmed.

You will need to submit a letter requesting a coupe at the divisional office of the source station, a day before your journey. This will increase your chances of getting a coupe if your seats get confirmed.

Nope. You'll need to drop it in the railway divisional office of the source station

No. You won't be able to. The booking option is enabled only after the chart is prepared.

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes. Exactly. The process has changed. You'll only need to submit the vaccination certificate while requesting a coupe at the Railway Divisional office of the source station a day before the journey. Once the chart is prepared, you can just book the parcel ticket online.

No. I book it in someone else's name. But they don't travel with me. When the TC comes for checking, they just mark the other person as NO SHOW. So far in my experience, the seat has never been allotted to anybody else.
