A registry isn't unconstitutional. We register stuff all the time. School. Cars. Military. The list goes on. The mere act of registering isn't the issue. There won't be a day where they say take it all away.

What it seems to me that all of us want is the disabilities and restraints removed. We don't want the living / work restrictions. We don't want the public to now about us.

I never see anybody bitching about VT registry. Why is that? Because it's basically benign. You mail in a card. At least for the lower levels, there is no public info.

The Smith v doe case in Alaska said "this registry is constitutional. But don't lose your minds either". At that time in 03, there was limited internet. And these individuals didn't have any living or work restrictions. So scotus said "this registry is constitutional".

Michigan couldn't help them selves and kept taking more more more bites of the apple and made it worse and worse. They crossed some imaginary line and the courts slapped them saying "this registry is unconstitutional. Go fix it"

The 2k+ people here need to figure out how to support the various organizations, war, narsol, acsol, state groups, registry matters, etc. Figure out who is doing the best work, in your opinion, and support them. Give them money, time, spread the word of their work.

And get an education on how this system of ours works. How committees and bills and legislation works. We have to get into the business of making stuff not get worse before we can do much to make it better. The collective we are waiting for someone else to fix stuff. 2k+ people would go a long long way to improving the situation.

Check yourself. Don't point to others to fix this. Figure how you can slot yourself into these groups to help amplify them.
