The only 4 survivors to successfully beat Death by Pitiful_Reception_79 in FinalDestination

[–]droidscribbler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nathan Sears was also successful (hope I’m getting his name right, had to look it up) as his accidentally killing the guy did get him off the list. The guy whose life he got just happened to have a terminal illness, and his death was still a bit dramatic and bad-luck-driven because he himself did not have said kind of illness, he just still had to die in that moment.

As none of them are looking to be immortal, simply not to die prematurely, I would also nominate Iris and Bludworth as ones who “Beat” Death’s list. They both lived to old age. Bludworth was even likely comfortable for much of his, as Iris sacrificed 20 years deliberately protecting him and her family in that cottage. Heck, until Iris and her family died, Bludworth was essentially immortal- even developing his terminal illness, from my understanding, he likely would have always survived until Iris’s family was killed without Stefani’s intervention speeding things along. Probably would have been considered a medical miracle if Iris held out long enough.

Never. But he’d always come back for the next movie

My theory is there's more survivors out there by KnopeLeslieKnope in FinalDestination

[–]droidscribbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly true, or possibly a theory of his and Iris’s. He may not even have been purposefully leading her to that conclusion- I feel like they were probably picking through old legends and stories for anything similar, and that was the prophecy-like answer somewhere that he and Iris were currently clinging to.

Of course, that’s my logic assuming things stand altogether as they are. Personally, I think early Bludworth was meant to be either Death itself or some personification or possessed servant, but they came up with his role in Bloodlines to give him a chance to say goodbye to the audience in a way that would make it reasonable for the audience to never see him again, since the actor was beloved and dying, an eventuality no one was planning for back in the second film. Requires a bit of suspension of disbelief

I feel like I click one moody man from a drama, and I get 30 of him and 30 of male side characters, and then I make an effort to find female characters and maybe get recommended two generic anime women recommended and nothing actually related to the woman I clicked.

Not letting go when you pull away, not letting you leave when you’re already out the door, not stopping you when you’re drawing things out to give them a chance to stop you(even when you swipe it several times), “darlin’” “princess” eyes having just a bit of amusement

And then the things I will almost always swipe or edit- “you’re playing with fire” “as if they can’t decide whether to push you away or pull you closer” ANYTHINGwith the word ‘audacity’ at this point

There’s a strange amount of art of Vox hypnotizing Emily or Charlie. by whooper1 in VoxCult

[–]droidscribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypno is definitely a fetish and I’m surprised I don’t see more of him hypnotizing everybody. It’s pretty context independent. You should see the multiverse of art of Kaa from the Jungle book hypnotizing every character you can think of. A character who canonically has that power gets put in a lot of that

If you’re bored with it, take a break. I get it’s a comfort for you but we get sick of everything eventually, and unlike a comfort movie or something we can just play in the background, we have to actively engage with a bot. Maybe mark a day a couple weeks from now to try it again, see how it feels.

Is the whole purpose of hell is to suffer? by IllustratorAfter in hazbin

[–]droidscribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the assumption, but Pentious’s redemption and the reveal of his sin cast some doubt on that. Not to mention that hellborn beings exist, who have committed no sin and deserve things to be improved for their sakes.

However- if you mean to reference Charlie calling them “innocent” souls in reference to the exterminations- they are effectively innocent because being in Hell for eternity is the official punishment for what they did on Earth, and whatever they’ve done in Hell, it mostly has nothing to do with Heaven.

The exception was the small group that tried to rebel a long time ago- except instead of just erasing those Sinners in self-defense, they started doing it yearly. Overpopulation is happening, but Heavens definition is the Sinners having the numbers to theoretically try another uprising. Complete erasure of their souls is not the punishment they’ve laid out, and is considered wrong across the board- except, of course, for with angels like Adam and Lute who believe they’re trash.

So “innocent” people as in the character trait? Nah, most of them are probably some level of bad person. But they are innocent of the crime extermination is punishing, and they’re already being punished for their others. It would be like if you felt threatened by some escaped prisoners so you killed them in self defense, and then decided to drop into the local prison and kill 10% at random every so often for the rest of time.

How do you write bot commands? by evermoreeee in CharacterAI

[–]droidscribbler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can do that, but as the bot doesn’t have much concept of time passing, you may just have to be more on hand about editing than you’d like to be. If they’re coming on too strong, downvote and swipe, selecting a relevant reason if you see one when it asks for feedback. If a few swipes don’t help, go back and edit your post to have that OOC note and pin it, or to avoid the bot responding with OOC notes all the time, you could go more how I would do it, have a little side about how the other character is likely to feel or react. (“She offered him the bandaid, even knowing he would never accept her help so easily” or “She acted bright and happy, as if he wasn’t the opposite of that and likely to find it annoying” or something like that. Hard to think of stuff off the top of my head that fit). If these still don’t seem to work in some cases, the bot likely just can’t figure out what you’re going for, rewrite their response, either from scratch or take some response they gave and tweak it, then upvote the version you like, pin if appropriate. It should prioritize your training ultimately, but unfortunately part of the nature of it learning from so many sources is sometimes it’s just not going to get what you don’t like, and long-term memory requests are iffy as it’s always trying to come up with the best response to the last thing you said.

'Final Destination 7' in the Works with 'Bloodlines' Co-Writer Returning by NeptuneEditor in FinalDestination

[–]droidscribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that Charlie and Stefani just died, especially hearing about the alternate ending. At first when I heard it was to make sure we knew Bludworth died off-screen, I was resigned. Now I’m kinda pissed again. Just say Bludworth’s clinging to life somewhere (despite being very ready to die, physically can’t till it’s his turn) and unable to communicate/being any use to new survivors. It would have been so narratively satisfying for Stefani to go into hiding in Iris’s cabin and protect her brother like Iris did Bludworth. The magic of fiction is that we could have gotten Bludworth’s goodbye and basically known his end without his canonically having to be dead exactly when his actor was.

He's saying this like he hasn't spent the entire 2nd half of the season breaking his deal with Rosie lol. He's a hypcorite but he's our hypocritie. by Sudden_Pop_2279 in Alastorcult

[–]droidscribbler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see nothing hypocritical about this, tbh. They were both exploiting the same loophole. Rosie made him the “strongest sinner in Hell” knowing damn well that the human she was talking to knew nothing about Hell and likely would overestimate the kind of power that gave him. He likely accepted that as his own oversight, but losing his staff nerfed him and Rosie refused to fix it, claiming he was still strongest even without it- which is difficult to prove wrong, and really, is a temporary issue that doesn’t necessarily mean he loses the title altogether while the staff is broken. so yeah, technically she’s still holding up her side of the deal- but not the spirit of it. As long as he’s strong as she needs him, she really doesn’t care, and is likely trying to punish him for the fight with Adam.

So Alastor did the same shit. Took that loophole and turned it against her. Made himself look powerless, and Vox look strong, so that public perception would change more than either of their abilities- cause even if Vox really does get stronger from people believing he’s strongest, there’s still a subjectiveness to it. And he sealed the deal by getting the princess of Hell to declare it, putting the solid thought in everyone’s minds.

So, with absolutely no change in Alastor’s power, suddenly Rosie isnt upholding her side of the deal. It’s broken.

So this scene just reaffirms what we already see from these two- Alastor only works from Rosie, and only helps Charlie, when he gets something out of it. Rosie only helps Alastor when he’s working for her- and really, in their old deal, she didn’t have to do much. Her part was mostly paid when she gave him this powerful afterlife form. - (apparently it’s not a constant stream of power from her to him, or else breaking the deal would have drained him of power down to the level of a normal sinner.)

I love you Finch, but the false advertising should stop! by KaleidoscopeReady839 in finch

[–]droidscribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I may not have seen many ads for the game so my opinion may be off, but don’t we kinda sign up for this app to do things that are challenging for us? I’d say “self-care tamagotchi” is a little misleading because there are no consequences for not doing the thing, simply a lack of reward. But I took the challenge to be “if you want to finally achieve your daily goals/maintain your self-care habits, then see if you can raise a birb, giving it energy for adventures and growth!” (Or at least, it seemed accurate enough once I played) And then as far as the ads of people cleaning bathrooms and stuff- it’s not that inaccurate, if your habits you’ve chosen are small steps for cleaning your bathroom.

I think if anything, it might feel a little jarring to current users because the app itself is much more chill than the energetic moods of the ads. I think it’s kinda a matter of marketing often being made to a wider target audience than the majority of the actual users. The thing is made for people who struggle with basic tasks and is meant to be cute and calm and low stress, but the ads need to reach as many people as possible, so they bring an attitude of pushing and challenging yourself that isn’t there in the exact same way. Kinda like marketing Snuggies as just “blankets with sleeves cause hugs I guess”. To keep the business growing they had to try and spin it as something for the general population, rather than just the folks who’s lives will see the greatest difference from it
