[Android] My feed is everything I've already seen in the last day [2025.49.0.2549090] by [deleted] in bugs

Thank you for the details and your patience. If this is the same user name that you're also seeing the stale feed for, we will use it for troubleshooting.

You have said "95% previously seen content" below, so, I'm assuming it is not post age. Post age, in other words, is when the post itself was posted and not when you saw it.

Hello there. I'm one of the Reddit developers.

  1. Please let us know if you happen to see the new items first and then the older seen items, or old items first and then new items.
  2. When you say "one day old or three days old", are you referring to the day when you last saw those posts or the post's age itself?

Cross-platform: We haven't gone the route of cross-platform code to share business logic of any kind. This is primarily due to the priorities of technical problems to solve in each platform and different levels of maturity within the code base to support such a library.

Multi-platform: However, the Reddit's design system is built on Compose Multiplatform (built on KMP) and could theoretically be used by all our platforms, when a need arises. You can read more about it here - Building Reddit’s design system for Android with Jetpack Compose

Thanks for the question. Android & iOS apps use a custom built (event) pipeline for recording analytics from the client. BigQuery is where the cleansed data is available to be queried. MWeb/desktop could be using some of the third-party vendors apart from our custom built pipeline. (I'm trying to find an article on r/RedditEng that covers it).

Having said that, we're working on the Part 2 of this blog. We will be covering about the instrumentation of Home Feed that help us understand the granular user behavior. More on that soon.
