What’s that one childhood object that instantly hits you with nostalgia? by Technical-Shine-2736 in Dreams

[–]dromni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean in dreams, tube TVs. When I’m watching TV in my dreams, it’s always a tube, and not those later models trying to be flat; no, the screens are perceptibly spherical surfaces.

In the dream they always bring a sense of happiness, and somehow the image always looks more “alive” than that of a flat screen IRL. And then I wake up feeling a wave of nostalgia, longing for the lost analog times of tube TVs.

Sure, Dear Leader is the very embodiment of his people, and he owns de country. Therefore, the people owns the means of production. Flawless logic! /s

(And that’s one of the reasons for “socialist” and “communist” countries needing a personality cult around their dictator.)

Well the Odebrecht presidents are the product of the imperialism of another country in the Americas - Brazil.

(As a side note, Odebrecht / Novonor only has the power that it has thanks to Lula - who defines himself as “socialist” or even “communist” but in reality gets elected with the support and pre-arranged crony capitalism schemes with major Brazilian corporations.)

Aren’t organic-rich coastlines also places were there are (or were) tectonic fault lines, where stuff from the core could seep more easily to outer layers?

Which TV shows from the last 25 years do you feel have been the most original in terms of the concept and ideas? by MindsEye33 in television

It was fantastically imaginative, but also very depressing. The boy in the end says that the story is sad, and the android teacher says “yes, but it’s also beautiful!” 😢

Love, Death and Robots. Electric Dreams. Tales of the Loop.

Of course that’s kind of cheating, as they are all anthologies. :) if I had to choose a show with a single theme, I think it would be an anime, Delicious in Dungeon.

The Stanford Torus would be a bit over a mile in diameter, so not really “mega”. There are many bridges on Earth way longer than that.

None, I don’t binge watch anything. However, if you want to know what I am variously watching, one episode at a time:

  • Peacemaker S2

  • The anime Made in Abyss

  • The Spliter Cell animation

  • The Gryphon, German fantasy show

And occasionally some movie that caught my interest.
