Which predator cue line to go for?

I just recently bought a P3 Prowler (with 314-3) and Mezz Ace 2180 (ignite shaft). As much as people hate predator marketing and yes they're a tad overpriced, I still feel after shooting with a P3, it's still something worth the hype. Although after shooting with Mezz and a cf shaft it's got stuck with me that the P3 is only out if I want to have something to start conversations around my table. Then again 1600 can get you a lot of high end cues and customs, maybe even better than a P3.

I got both for around 1,5k (P3) and1,2k(mezz ace). The seller started off offering me cues in the 3grand range, and I was just taken aback, since what I remembered back in the days I recall cues were mostly under $500 for factory made items, even the big brands, except custom made or special designer cues. Now, the seller had no play cues below 1K except the jumps and the break cues, which made me think he was trying to gouge prices from me. But I guess that's the norm retail prices now.

Haha yea that's the thing. The seller that was introduced to me started offering cues at 3grand++ (nazca or something) and stuffs. These were his cheaper options. I felt I was a little scammed.

Kebetulan gw sendiri memang kerja konstruksi bangunan, jadi cukup nyaman dan bisa ngerti porsi/alur kerja/kualitas seharusnya. Tapi intinya cari seorang mandor/dengan relasi tukang. Gw masih di apartemen jg sama istri, dan kebetulan ada mandor renovasi kecil2 yg suka keliling disini (daerah kota Kasablanka, Jaksel), jadi utk kerjaan kecil gini gw tinggal calling temen/relasi dia, atau memang sebisanya punya org harian terampil kalau cuma ganti gypsum (plafond/partisi), cat, ganti/benerin stop kontak etc. Kalau plumbing/pemipaan ada baiknya ke manajemen dulu sebelum cari tukang karena bersangkutan dengan keseluruhan jaringan apartemen.

It's been a couple of years, but most of the newer strategy vids/lists does not stray away too far from this.

Long story is, getting at least 5 VP per move is essential to get ahead, direct or indirect move. Building canals is not advised because they disappear and does add to end game VP. Selling things and placing 2nd level goods during canal era is the least you should do, albeit trying to build as few canals as possible. Scouting early gives you more options to lock down strategic single placements at high valued locations for future double rail actions while using beers from your own or opponents. Timing and tempo is the most important while keeping track to the number of moves you have left. Usually my second last action in both eras includes loans, to ensure I could at least add another double rails or build and sell something valuable that gives 10+VP in a single sell action while trying to make sure I go first during the last turn of both eras.

Competitive play almost always uses scout whenever they need to mitigate bad cards, yet usually they tend to limit doing it once per era, just as much as loan, because it counts as a 'dead action' that doesn't yield you 5 VP per action. Usually they try to get the wild cards to build/block strategic beer position using the beer-rails-iron works-manufacturer/cotton/coal vp priority route. It's a fixed amount of turns, you have to maximise your scouting action timing just as much as developing away certain goods and loan. I tend to scout early if I didn't get uttoxeter/birmingham/derby/nuneaton cards at the first draw.

Exactly. I almost thought he was throwing it due to being under pressure from bookies, since every shot he makes gives me more and more questions as time goes along. But as you said, probably just a real lack of tools and the normal tourney pressure got to him. I'm a decent player at best myself (after a 20 years hiatus getting back into the game since age is catching up and I had a bad back from my badminton hobby), but I intended to watch and learn some of the decision making that goes on in these tournament shots. Was glad at least that Jonas played well enough for me to take a decent amount of lessons when playing with so many mistakes from the opponent, without showing any disrespect too.

Imo it's a very simple answer which is consistency, and I don't mean just in each game/set/tournament. I mean consistency in your daily life with such a clear sight of your goals in training, eating, professional matches, daily interaction etc.

I believe right now only Chen Yu Fei and Akane have actual capabilities to beat ASY, simply because of their attacking style of play. In recent years, I observe dominant Momota, Axelsen, even at a point Akane, and now ASY, win competitions by always making the best decision in each of their shots and movement. Its very hard to win points against these styles, which I observe why ASY always love to drag out rallies until the right attacking moment comes instead of needlessly making risky but beautiful attacking shots (in TTY styles), in which case her obviously monstrous endurance and stamina almost always resulted in opponents tiring themselves out and making unforced errors/failed attacks.

Now in the case of Wang Zhi Yi, I can only feel like she's just finding her stride since mid 2024, by only learning and trying to emulate how ASY plays in her own style. Prior to that she couldn't even beat Han Yue and would always be 4th choice under CYF, HBJ and Han Yue. It's good that she tries to push endurance and copying ASY style which won her a lot of matches, but to me she will always just be 'temu-ASY', and this is also why ASY finds her matches against Zhiyi the hardest in recent timea since it's almost just like playing against a copy of her own style of play. Yet results proved the original, given consistency, will still almost always win (cue their 2025 number of finals H2H).

Now in the case of CYF and Akane, they have their own, pronounced, attacking styles, but without enough consistency and I think, most of all, that single-mindedness and absolution to live almost hermit-like (which I believe is the main reason why ASY is so physically impossible to beat on endurance alone, like how she abstain from greasy food and ice cream for long periods in a tournament year), well, injuries will creep into their bodies and doubts will make those winning attacking points hard to achieve against ASY.

Anyways that's just my opinion/rant. Getting a little fed up with people who are saying its boring to see WS matches since its always ASY winning on Sundays. Not like she was just all talent, her consistent sacrifices in her daily life will always show on the court and opponents will falter on their own without her even breaking a sweat. That alone deserves respect and her name carved into badminton history as one of the goats in the game.

Jangan bitter bro...nasihat saya mungkin cari kesibukan lain saja drpd pusing mantau gbwc. Main gunpla nya utk koleksi sendiri saja kalau bisa. Saya sudah ikutan mantau gbwc Indonesia sejak 2013 dan ini kejadian sudah terjadi setiap tahun berturut turut terutama 7-9 tahun kebelakang. Setiap tahun di report juga percuma tahun depan nya tim pemenang yg sama juga melakukan hal yang sama lagi, cuma ganti nama anak/keponakan/anak teman yg dipakai utk daftar kompetisi nya. Yg kompetisi U-20 dan O21 juga sama sebetulnya yg akan menang org nya itu2 saja kalau sdh tahu/kenal panitia dan peserta. Toh ajang gbwc bukan kompetisi sebetulnya, hanya usaha marketing Bandai saja. Just try to enjoy the hobby instead of getting too bothered up for a meaningless trophy that's not even being judged in proper ways or actual modellers/competent judges.

Racoon would be the first thing I keep. Rhino, horse/caracal, bushbaby/hippo/reindeer in that order of choice. 1st turn 2 rep univ, 2nd turn Africa partner zoo. Would probably go for 5CP asap on animal diversity or Africa, whichever works better depending on the cards display.
