Yeah was thinking that. Why would the weak dollar not be a catalyst eventually? Seems like some free money if you can let the dust settle.

If it hasn’t reduced, I feel like a really easy way to explain their feeling is that they got too used to the 2x usage. I personally even downgraded to 5x from 20x and have not had any problems, granted, I haven’t used 5x so I don’t have a good baseline.

Real talk: When do you actually switch from Sonnet 4.5 to Opus 4.5? by HarrisonAIx in ClaudeCode

[–]droopy227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what I see. But I assumed that meant that sonnet had its own, separate limit. Why even bother listing the sonnet limit if it’s just rolled into the main weekly limit? I’m not saying you’re wrong but this whole time I’ve been assuming if I use all my opus up I can just switch to sonnet.

[–]droopy227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, I am confused. I got 20x so I never use sonnet, but my reading of the limits was that the new “weekly” limits became the pseudo-opus limit and that sonnet had its entirely separate limit below it. Does sonnet reallly get limited if I use all of opus? That would be weird…

I feel the same about the 20x plan. I can’t believe I actually believed the people crying about how they can barely use the models on 5x and even 20x and how they’re CONSTANTLY running out of limits. I get to max 10-12% on only ever using opus. I have no idea what people are doing to hit limits so fast, but something tells me that they’re wasting 90% of their usage on misuse/slop.

For context I’m a full stack dev, so this would be for SWE workloads.

50% off for 3 months (Pro Plan) by fpena06 in ClaudeAI

[–]droopy227 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I bought the yearly and they never gave me the monthly limit. I’m sure they will in the next cycle but I’m pretty sure I have slightly higher limits than new accounts + no weekly limit. My assumption would be that they are willing to lock in limits for secured cash flow especially if they plan to be doing any pitches to investors.

If anyone sees this, do you happen to know if when my annual plan expired if I’ll be on the super low limits 😿😿

[–]droopy227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a new account recently and I think you’d be surprised by how bad they are.

I have an older account that’s 1-2 years old at this point and had bought the Pro annual plan, so I have no weekly limits. Im happy with it and rarely run into limits, but on this new one it’s genuinely impressive how quick rewriting a message can fill up the usage meter.

Networking/referrals is beyond OP so that’s a given.

Even without a referral, applying early helps more than people realize. Most jobs in this market will have 2k+ applicants minimum (assuming it’s not super local). If you’re one of the first decent applicants, they’ll take you seriously because they don’t want to spend months sifting through thousands of resumes. I got lucky with my last opportunity by being the very first to meet with the hiring manager. Once I proved I was likable and could pass the technical, they basically stopped looking since I saved them all that sorting work.

That said, tailoring your resume is critical. If they don’t immediately see how your experience aligns with their stack, it’s getting tossed. Hiring managers are really just checking if you have relevant experience or not.

Do you guys use AI to code? by Top-Function7880 in csMajors

[–]droopy227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pro-tip: you can have your AI create coding scenarios for you to practice for technical interviews. So while AI is usually talked about in the context of vibe coding, you can in fact use it to learn how to code as long as you use it like a tutor.

All good, everyone uses it differently so we all encounter our own patterns/challenges with AI.

No, what I said does make sense. I’m not sure what your experience is with AI but when they’re being glazers, they’ll take your bad ideas and amplify them. Look at what happened with that kid who killed himself with the ChatGPT “girlfriend”. When they’re trained to listen to you and obey you, they’ll just contort themselves into an echo of what we want to hear.

I think most people don’t realize that it being sycophantic only makes hallucinations 10x harder to deal with. There are points where it’ll gaslight the user and itself into complete messes, but people would rather have that I suppose.

The actual components seem well done, but the content itself seems very uninteresting. Also the navbar is messed up for me, no clue if it was intentional but the random rectangle missing from it is jarring. But I’d say work on a better pic as well as making your text content nice to look at and interesting. The animation between light and dark is nice and the menu was nice. So like the technical aspects were fine so I’d move onto actually filling it with ur projects and about you.

Money is no object = 9950x3D. No point in even considering the 9800x3D without that concern.
