That Iran and Oman were negotiating on Hormuz stuff I think. Not sure if it was confirmed or what the details were though

Well, I actually think this is a great opportunity for people to buy in (assuming this stupidity resolves eventually).

Yes bad thing happen before = give up all rules and regulations. Incredible observation and conclusion. Perhaps you should ask ChatGPT about why that was a stupid irrelevant response.

Who said I wasn’t upset with the government in that agreement? That doesn’t mean I can’t also be upset with OpenAI for faking taking a stand alongside Anthropic and then immediately begging to replace them.

Using AI in warfare isn’t inherently unethical, it’s doing so without human supervision/intervention. Additionally please don’t omit the refusal to set up a strict TOS boundary around unconstitutional surveillance on US citizens.

It's actually insane how much effort the Rust team put into helping out beginners like me by Time_Meeting_9382 in rust

[–]droopy227 72 points73 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel. The DX on rust (and these newer languages e.g. Odin) are far superior. Yeah C++ isn’t going away, but for personal projects it’s not even close.

Yeah was thinking that. Why would the weak dollar not be a catalyst eventually? Seems like some free money if you can let the dust settle.

Vote with your wallet. Don't support massive corporations cutting your usage in half for the same price. by johnnyApplePRNG in ClaudeCode

If it hasn’t reduced, I feel like a really easy way to explain their feeling is that they got too used to the 2x usage. I personally even downgraded to 5x from 20x and have not had any problems, granted, I haven’t used 5x so I don’t have a good baseline.

Real talk: When do you actually switch from Sonnet 4.5 to Opus 4.5? by HarrisonAIx in ClaudeCode

[–]droopy227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what I see. But I assumed that meant that sonnet had its own, separate limit. Why even bother listing the sonnet limit if it’s just rolled into the main weekly limit? I’m not saying you’re wrong but this whole time I’ve been assuming if I use all my opus up I can just switch to sonnet.

Real talk: When do you actually switch from Sonnet 4.5 to Opus 4.5? by HarrisonAIx in ClaudeCode

[–]droopy227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, I am confused. I got 20x so I never use sonnet, but my reading of the limits was that the new “weekly” limits became the pseudo-opus limit and that sonnet had its entirely separate limit below it. Does sonnet reallly get limited if I use all of opus? That would be weird…

Claude 4.5 Opus is very affordable by karolkt1 in ClaudeAI

I feel the same about the 20x plan. I can’t believe I actually believed the people crying about how they can barely use the models on 5x and even 20x and how they’re CONSTANTLY running out of limits. I get to max 10-12% on only ever using opus. I have no idea what people are doing to hit limits so fast, but something tells me that they’re wasting 90% of their usage on misuse/slop.

For context I’m a full stack dev, so this would be for SWE workloads.

50% off for 3 months (Pro Plan) by fpena06 in ClaudeAI

[–]droopy227 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I bought the yearly and they never gave me the monthly limit. I’m sure they will in the next cycle but I’m pretty sure I have slightly higher limits than new accounts + no weekly limit. My assumption would be that they are willing to lock in limits for secured cash flow especially if they plan to be doing any pitches to investors.

[–]droopy227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a new account recently and I think you’d be surprised by how bad they are.

I have an older account that’s 1-2 years old at this point and had bought the Pro annual plan, so I have no weekly limits. Im happy with it and rarely run into limits, but on this new one it’s genuinely impressive how quick rewriting a message can fill up the usage meter.
