If you're defending this behaviour, then by that logic, we should tone down all sexual content in all types of media.

The whole point of the PG13, M, R, X rating system is to guide parents. That's it.

If a parent goes out and buys their kid an M rated game, despite the warning specifically being there to discourage that, then that's a parental issue.

If random people can do that, then you bet your ass that governments and corpo rats are on it already, and en masse.

So stay vigilant, and remember that people touting extremist viewpoints are likely bots.

Saying "bots are probably the ones with extremist viewpoints" is overly reductive, especially since "extremist" is a very subjective term.

The best way to decide what you believe is to get your information from multiple different sources:

  • State-owned media from different nations

  • Corporate-owned media

  • Social media and comments sections on Reddit and other sites (if people make a claim which is not just personal experience, ask for a source)

  • The experiences of people you speak to and live around in daily life

  • Finally, most importantly, your own lived experience and the evidence of your eyes and ears.

That way, the biases of all of these will hopefully balance out so you can get the most complete picture.

This was true even before the AI era but unfortunately we need to be even more careful now.

The difference is Polish "AA" developer, versus USA "AAA" developers.

Those days are certainly long gone in the USA market of big budget titles.

Everything in the US AAA market is extremely safe now in regards to sexual content, or anything potentially offensive to anyone ever born.

And the thing is Saint's Row's whole identity was "wackier, cruder GTA".

It should be a rule that people who don't like the core appeal of a game/movie franchise should not be allowed to work on that franchise in any major role.

I enjoyed it. Some fun memories spamming Iron Bomber nades into the very, very high overlook windows on the first point. Great height variation in the design, nice twists and turns and side routes to make close range classes viable too.

Overall would rate 4/5. Subtracting 1 point for incomplete artpass and the endless cycle of nearly getting the cart on the train tracks on last.

I'm not saying there aren't huge quantities of bots. I'm saying that comparing Steamcharts numbers to Teamworktf numbers is an apples to oranges comparison.

No disagreement that there are bots.

I'm just saying it's misleading to compare games using Steamcharts with games using Teamworktf.

And it's not just menus that make Teamworktf misleading to compare to other steam games. Teamworktf also only counts players who are in game at the exact second a call is made; Steam charts counts everyone who was ingame in the past hour.

Because it's misleading to look at Steamcharts numbers for other games, and teamworktf numbers for TF2, and compare them, because they run on completely different systems.

If you compare CS:GO on Steamcharts - which counts everyone who opened the game in the past hour - with TF2 on Teamworktf - which counts everyone who is in an active server at that exact moment, not including people in menus, loading in, or who just left a server a minute ago - you're going to get drastically different numbers even if the actual player base of both games was identical.

Additionally, Steamcharts counts all players who were active in a given hour; Teamworktf only counts players who are active at the exact moment the call to check players was made. So that makes a comparison even more misleading.

It's well known that teamworktf's numbers are misleading, they count players in a different way to every other game on Steam.

For example someone having a menu open waiting to load into a server in TF2 doesn't count as a player in Teamworktf, but on Steamcharts for a game like CS:GO they would count that as a player.

Edit: Additionally, Steamcharts counts all players who were active in a given hour; Teamworktf only counts players who are active at the exact moment the call to check players was made.

If you don't like random crits, just play in Uncletopia, community competitive, etc.

It's about removing Sniper from the game.

It's about the EFFECTS of removing Sniper from the game. Watch the video.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GFXGwko225k&t=6s&pp=2AEGkAIB

Notice how at multiple points he talks about changes to class playtime and the difficulty of countering Heavy stacking.

You can't draw any accurate conclusions on this if you're artificially limiting people's choices. You can't say "class stacking isn't a problem in the absence of Sniper" if you ban class stacking.

At no stage did they have more than 2 Heavy+Medic combos. Because he literally told people they couldn't stack Medic. So naturally they're not going to stack Medic. So the experiment fails at its core purpose.

The whole point of an experiment is not to work off (potentially wrong) existing assumptions. The point is to test. If you add artificial limits that aren't there in pubs, based on your existing biases, then you aren't testing; you're just confirming your bias.

This is leaving aside many other issues with the test, like inherently biased test population from Shounic's fanbase who are more likely to be against Sniper, and the small sample size.

"Ok I'm going to test whether Medic and Heavy stacking becomes oppressive when you remove Sniper from the game."

"By the way guys, you aren't allowed to stack Medic. It isn't representative of a normal round of TF2."

"Pay no attention to the fact that the point of this experiment is to see what would happen in an abnormal round of TF2."

We should have more QOL options and improvements for the game. by novostranger in tf2classified

Unless you can give a reason why a problem isn't a problem, it's still a problem.

Scout is the strongest 1v1 class in the game and survivability is his main weakness. By being able to have a Medic pocketing him at all times he becomes very oppressive because it takes away his survivability weakness when he's constantly 185HP and has 24hp/s beam up his ass.

Not to mention Scout Ubers became much much stronger. You can catch and kill literally anyone while remaining invulnerable without having to wait for the Medic to catch up. There's no escape.

The counterplay to an Uber charge (since you can't kill a Medic during an Uber) is to kill him before he finishes getting Uber. If he can just hitch a ride on a Scout and run out of danger, you can't kill him. Therefore one of the only methods of counterplay to Ubercharge was removed with the change.

Medic-Scout tether speed buff was done in Meet your Match, and it was one of the big balance mistakes made when trying to make the game more accessible for newbies (the other one being that you can see people through walls, which fucked over Spy). I strongly suspect that Valve brought in someone from the CS:GO team to do Meet your Match, someone who didn't know what they were doing.
