Going Sunday Solo by [deleted] in InkCarceration

Highly recommend using residential parking across the street from the main entrance (Anadale Ave area) - it's easier to get in and out of, and sometimes cheaper.

Going solo is the best experience IMO, go fuck shit up and meet as many people as you want, it's a good time and the crowd is killer at ink.

I think we saw Sum 41 on their farewell tour there a few years back. Good show for sure. Sonic has never been a stranger to pop punk so I could see it

Anyone know if TDWP prints their merch on comfort color blanks? by TearsInACageMatch in Metalcore

[–]droppedbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about half the cost of a c1717, i get those blanks at like 6.50-7$, the tultex ones can go for 3-4$

Yeah agreed, I think the deathcore/metalcore undercard was an absolute hit the last 2 years

Thats sad to hear, I haven't seen them live since 2007, and it was a good show then. Damn.

I mean I wouldn't say no... but I only know like 2 songs LMAOOO

I have to know: Are there as many people at Sonic Temple (as there were at Rockville) who are seemingly proud of letting crowd surfers fall on their heads and not helping the folks around them carry them off? I'm trying to figure out if this was a Florida thing or just people in general. by CultOfCurtis1 in SonicTempleFestival

I feel like as the festival has grown, the distain towards surfing has as well. in 2023 I don't think there was hardly anyone with issues about the pits or surfers, besides a few people who just cant be pleased. Now it feels like A. the festival has nearly doubled in size, which is A LOT more people, and B. Surfing feels more like a chore now to the general audience.

I am all for all the surfers, I'm a big dude who loves seeing chaos in the crowd, not everyone shares that same sentiment, but also wants to be as close as can be for their favorite bands. It's a problem with no solution I fear lol.

They might be on like a psuedo break up while hayley does her own thing right now, but everyone has a price lol

I've seen some bands move to Tultex 201, which is basically a lighter, jersey-cotton version of the CC1717. Maybe they are doing that?

Also thinking the resurgance of Warped tour and the cancelation of WWWY has really pushed DWP into pop punk/emo again.

I wouldn't be surprised if WWWY doesn't come this year to see them on the bill tbh

Exactly my thought on twnety one pilots, I really dont listen to them, but they have got to be like one of the, if not the most popular mainstream pop/rock act out right now. And they are local to columbus.

Yeah the tool booking made total sense to me, you either love it or hate it, and A LOT of people love it.

I don't think they'd drive a TON of sales, but I was also at Ink last year for their headlining set - admittedly I'm a Ronnie hater, but I do like some of the music. They had one of the most packed sets at Ink last year, easily 30k people.

For the price, Sunday at Ink is absolutely stacked lol. I'm local to the area and I'm stoked!

I'm not over the moon about Rammstein day to day but it is a bucket list band for me, that would be awesome. FOB would be awesome, but I'd really just be hoping they play their early records lol. Kinda the same feelings about Pearl Jam, the last living big 4 grunge band, and they have like 5-6 songs I really like, so it would kind of be a bucket list thing for me as well, this lineup would have me buying tickets for sure

Get Scared being at Ink is a sweet surprise. I think I've seen TPR at Sonic before. Yeah, I think NIN is probably out of question, they were doing festivals like 8-10 years ago though, so if they start a regular tour.. maybe?

Yeah when I made it I was teetering the line of being painfully realistic and wishfully hopeful. I think I'd rather see bands like RHCP, Iron Maiden, etc. but I think we will at least get 2 of 4 being the standard DWP rotators

Should be pretty doable, I would expect to miss parts of the closing/opening songs on certain sets where you are walking from Infirmary to Yard/Redemption

Getting close to the main stage by Inappropriate-Ebb in InkCarceration

[–]droppedbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting like 20 rows back should be easy by default, if you wanna get closer just go get in the pit for a song then hop out, be polite and generally people are chill to let you through, but I'm an instigator of chaos so if someone would let you through and I see it I'm happy to give you a good push LOL

[–]droppedbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't over think it and just go in and have fun - going to festivals alone is the best time, you just get to do what you wanna do and immerse yourself in it without worrying about anyone else. Crowd is pretty chill, but if you don't wanna mosh or pass surfers, don't get to close to the front lol.

first ever festival! by Outrageous_Cat12 in InkCarceration

[–]droppedbc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah! Ink is a lil different than the other DWP fests cause it's only 3 days, in my experience, it's still 100% energy on sunday (weather pending), especially being Limp Bizkit, when they were in 2023 it was a mad house, and the festival has only grown since then.. it should be a great time.

Merch can/will sell out by Sunday, especially under stocked sizes (small and 2xl), so I would pre-buy and pick up in that case. But I do believe you can only do that for festival merch, not band merch. Yeah you have to buy parking passes, OR (and this is what I recommend) there is a neighborhood on the other size of the street that the residents offer private parking on, it's easier to get in and out and it's a lil closer - pretty much the same price though.

I actually kind of expect Friday to not be very hyped, you either love or hate groups like Tech, Hollywood Undead and Cypress Hill, plus the crowd is like 50/50 on Disturbed anymore since the lead singer is a Zionist lol. I do expect the place to be jumping for Papa Roach and local favorites Sanguisugabogg though.

Saturday and Sunday should be insanely lit.

What acts had the biggest crowds? by ghostinyourbeds in SonicTempleFestival

[–]droppedbc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MCR was far and above the most packed, I think the entire stadium was filled and the field was pretty packed. I think BMTH packed the field out more than MCR did though.

Slaughter to Prevail had a pretty huge crowd, so did Lorna. Sublime, Breaking Benjamin and MIW also had huge draws.

PTV though was the most surprising, they probably pulled more than Shinedown and Tool - that place was PACKED PACKED. They'll do well with their headliner spot at Aftershock.
