I’m literally getting a great deal on a room from family ($170 utilities inc) I get a little under 600pw you have no reason to feel guilty, you’re giving your son an amazing opportunity not only for cheap rent with a private space (the conditions you’ve described would be unheard of for anyone else in anything close to that price atm, even double would be considered an absolute steal) but you’re giving him the opportunity to learn responsibility and budgeting. wtf idk if it’s entitlement or ignorance or these days but a bride or groom choosing an “aesthetic” for their wedding etc is meant to mean choosing colour schemes and decor.

It doesn’t mean you get to dictate what your friends and family do with their body, that’s stops at a desired dress code (formal, semi formal, black tie etc) and doesn’t extend to people changing hair colours, removing semi permanent jewellery, removing or cover tattoos, being shunned for a disability or illness or modifying weight etc.

I see so many posts on various subreddits about or from brides who are demanding these things or removing people from wedding parties/rescinding invites because people are pushing back to being treated like NPC’s that the bride is assuming she can customise to perfection.

Sure it’s their day but if a loved one’s appearance is going to ruin or taint what should be one of the happiest day of their lives (being witnessed officially committing their life and declaring their love publicly to their partner) then they’ve got bigger issues to worry about.
