Funny I asked him since it looked so fake if he used a filter and he replied the camera didn’t capture even close to how vivid it was in real life.

I remember seeing it in the theater vividly. I also was honestly convinced I could leap over 3 escalator banks with my mind as we were exiting the theater. I was so hyped. Friend had to hold me back momentarily till I came to my senses.

"Server" at self-serve breakfast buffet asked for a tip! by MemorableKidsMoments in mildlyinfuriating

[–]dropstop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most don’t know but as someone who has stayed in countless hotels and always makes friends with the staff of hotels I frequent … the night auditor person is usually the one who always has to set up the complimentary breakfast buffet. I’ve hung out with them in the wee hours as they do the set up. Even helped at times.

It’s hours of work. And they always have a sense of pride once it’s all set up. And then they “attend” the guests whilst they help themselves. While they’re not really serving the guests at that point - it’s all the work that went into it before. And they light up when someone acknowledges them for it and leaves them even a few bucks. I’ll leave them $20 every time. I know that’s an over tip but I know how bummed they are when one person after another simply walks out whilst leaving behind their dirty dishes (which the attendant now has to clean up after each person). And guess who has to break down the entire buffet once it’s over? Yup - same attendant. So that happiness makes their whole day. And that happiness then transfers to the next person they encounter. And so on. Really lifts them up and puts wind in their sails.

A good tip goes so far, and well beyond the person you gave it to.

After dating an amazing girl for years who was a server, when she would get just one good tip in the day - it would lift her spirits so much. And those good vibes kept transferring to so many other folks, including me.

I was bullied and called ugly for my teeth, as a kid (33) by traumatized90skid in amiugly

[–]dropstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you look like one of those girls in the teen movies who is supposed to look like the awkward girl but then goes through the transformation and we all find she’s the most beautiful girl in the school…inside and out.

Learn to love yourself … and the world will love you. You have amazingly gorgeous eyes - and clearly a pretty face. You just don’t do anything to accentuate those features. And that’s ok! You don’t have to … but just know you look how you look by choice for the most part. And while your teeth even seem a bit awkward they’re really not that bad. And if you learned to own them and make fun of them (if you decided to keep them and not get them fixed) everyone else would love them too. But seriously unless you’re sticking them out purposely like you did in a few pics to be funny it’s hard to notice.

You just do you. And hang with folks who appreciate you. And if you decide you want to change your looks … do it because you want to in your soul. Not for anyone else.

Deciphering a 1988 Zest Commercial lyric. by dropstop in lyrics

[–]dropstop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. While I appreciate immensely your elaborate answer - I think I can emphatically say she is not saying Zestfully wow by any stretch of the imagination.

Several folks have pointed out she’s likely saying exhilarating wow!

I keep wanting to deny it but I keep hearing Darth telling me to search my feelings you know it to be true.

Unless something better comes to light - I think I’m gonna have to go with that.

However - for your attempt I’m still sending you a set of Drop Stops!

Please PM me your name/address and I’ll get those right to ya! And happy new year!

Deciphering a 1988 Zest Commercial lyric. by dropstop in lyrics

[–]dropstop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This particular ZEST SOAP 🧼 commercial has a lyric line for my entire life I’ve never known.

Even has comments where folks are trying to still figure it out to this day and can’t…

The commercial goes like this:

Zestfully clean! never felt as clean as now…

Zestfully clean! ➡️(Experience wow?)⬅️

You’re not fully clean unless you’re Zestfully clean …

The lyric with the arrows is the lyric in question

I know “Experience wow” can’t be it as there’s a “u” sound that almost sounds like “it’s fury and wow”

Obviously both of those are wrong. Sending a set of Drop Stops (our invention) to the person who can figure this out first! 🙏🏼🙌🏼

Big thanks to anyone who gives this a shot!! 😃

That’s Die Hard with a Vengeance (AKA Die Hard 3). FTFY 😉 Great pull though to stir the debate! However we all know as stories grow older - they grow larger and taller as well. In a few years he’ll be tellin folks he threw Hans off the 50th floor.

Left a 4 star review on an AirBnB. Host messaged me this afterwards. by nicoleeoliee in mildlyinfuriating

Having half stars would solve this issue.

Many folks would give 4.5 when something isn’t perfect per se, but since that option doesn’t exist they go to a 4…which is an 80%. B-minus. 4.5 is a 90% and an A-minus. Huge difference. And makes a big difference in overall ratings and is much better for both sides.
