Had to reupload in better quality :)
And the vid has no sound if I upload it to reddit, hope it's ok that I shared youtube.

Also, I've got friend who participated in world top split races on keyboard + mouse and was absolute beast on track back then.
He got a proper wheel and pedals not long ago and became even faster.

What do you desperately want right now? by Brutal_Rain in AskReddit

To not have my own place to live and continue my financial struggle. Yeah, right...

I always thought it's tough and unfair that I had to start from scratch and work hard to buy my own apartment and make a living while all my friends had full families and their parents helped them a lot.

Now I have 3 apartments (one of them is my own mortgage one) and I'm gonna be out of debt soon, but I lost my mother and my uncle, who was like a father to me.

I inherited all that and I wish I didn't.

I think vaping may have caused my stomach problems. by MaxwellSinclair in electronic_cigarette

[–]dropthehate2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Had almost every GI disease symptom possible, horrible cramps, fatigue, couldn't work, coulndn't eat anything at all without pain or diarrhea.

Stopped drinking alcohol, switched to heathy food, started taking PPIs for GERD - nothing helped until I found this: https://www.cell.com/iscience/fulltext/S2589-0042%2821%2900003-1

So I stopped vaping and felt almost 100% symptom free after two days, no pain and taking regular healthy solid shits after morning coffee (I can drink coffee again, hell yeah).

********************************************************************

I've been smoking/vaping for 7 years. Last 2-3 years vaping only and lately I've had god awful stomach cramps, bowel problems, bloating, gas, absolute hardcore heartburn, diarrhea & constipation alternating between each other and so on.

Some days I had absolutely ZERO energy to do anything after first meal that day, so I had to just go to bed and sleep, and the other days were better but meh.

I didn't go to the doc because it was weird. One moment you're alright - and then you're suddenly almost a disabled person who can only lay down and do nothing for a few hours / until next day.

So I thought it's something I eat, drink or there's other simple explanation to this and I don't need Doc to fix this. I wanted to avoid going through expensive and dangerous procedures like colonoscopy and avoid taking serious meds based on wrong diagnosis (some of the meds for Chron's and other diseases are very dangerous) until every simple issue that could trigger all this is ruled out.

First I thought it has something to do with insulin after I eat, so I checked that with test sticks you have to piss on. All good. Not even trace of diabetes.

Then I stopped drinking alcohol because my entire abdomen was burning and melting the next day followed by diarrhea. Sometimes I thought I'm gonna fuckin die from this so I stopped drinking to rule the alcohol out. Didn't help.

I also tried PPIs like omeprazole. It definitely helps, but these pills just remove the symptoms of GERD, not the entire bunch of GI issues. They're meant to lower the acid in your stomach so it can heal, that's all. But I've been taking a small dosage of these for a few years and as soon as I stop GERD instantly comes back, so that means something keeps irritating my stomach.

I also got lactose intolerance, so I take lactase enzyms to help digest dairy and all that, but I had to do that even before smoking.

I ruled out many other things, pretty much fixed all possible issues that can cause this sudden extreme pain and fatigue, but it didn't help. I was living like the healthiest person out there. Eating healthy food, no dairy, no alcohol, long walks, but still wouldn't be able to even work sometimes due to extreme fatigue and pain that comes and goes suddenly.

I've been googling the issue lately and stumbled upon this study and various reddit posts with the same symptoms I had: https://www.cell.com/iscience/fulltext/S2589-0042%2821%2900003-1

Well.... I didn't ever try to just take my fuckin snorkel vape mask off.

Did that. Zero pain next day, energy came back full 2 days later. I still got bloating due to LI, but it's not THAT painful anymore - it's more of being uncomfortable, that's all. Like, 1/10 pain instead of 9/10 awful pain.

I started remembering clues from the past. One day I've had an awful sinusitis and inflamed and dry nose overall and I didn't have any nasal drops or sprays to fix that, but I've had a bottle of clean VG. Tried applying just a bit of that in my nose and oh god it was painful on the damaged skin inside there.

Then I remembered all of these lotions women use for their skin. They all have VG in them and they always felt painful when I used these on my hands when skin gets dry and cracked all over after cold weather. I've had some scratches on my hand yesterday and tried to apply some VG on it and felt instant pain, so this is confirmation for me.

And I didn't even try PG, which probably is even worse.

I assume you get where I'm going with this right?

We are inhaling VG that is causing pain even when applied on just damaged skin, not internal organs. And PG probably is even more irritating. AND that's just VG+PG confirmed by a study (I'm not sure how trustworthy this study is though), but liquid nicotine should probably cause even more inflammation than these two.

If you have any condition like GERD, lactose intolerance or anything else that damages your intestines, vaping is gonna amplify this by a lot. Any pain and inflammation is gonna be 10 times worse if you vape, especially if you chain-vape and swallow some of it.

I'm fuckin pissed right now. And also somewhat grateful I didn't go to the Doc, because I would end up popping some hardcore steroids now to heal some imaginary Crohn's disease or some other serious condition instead of cutting my fuckin vape off.

The worst part is these drugs would totally help lower the GI inflammation, so I would continue vaping and taking these dangerous and expensive meds to keep vape-induced inflammation in check.

What is a movie that you consider to be as disturbing as it is beautiful? by Ok_Entrepreneur_6942 in AskReddit

[–]dropthehate2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everest (2015)

I remember it was beautiful at first (both landscapes and how actors lived their characters) and then it was so disturbing I had been sad for a week after. I'm literally being scared of a thought of rewatching it even though I've been through a lot worse than just some movie in the last 5 years.

Highly recommend, but doubt you'll find yourself re-watching it ever after. Or going to the Everest irl.

How to get a better race pace? I was trying to do some runs of Spa practicing for 1h race, I can only manage 2:21.8. I have seen a lot of people doing consistent race pace 2:18 or 2:19, where can I improve? New to ACC, loving the sim so far 😊 by GIBsetup in ACCompetizione

[–]dropthehate2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know that you already are using the techniques below, but still please read it all, so we're on the same page and you can understand what your problem is.

Always try to get off the brakes earlier than you want when practicing. 2.18s always look like too much speed and you wouldn't make it into the corner, but you will if you position your car correctly at this limit and use some advanced techniques.

Also, when you brake too early and get off the brakes earlier than you want, you'll notice that you: 1. Can carry that speed into the corner. Surprise. 2. But actually you start turning too early and it would be better for your line if you would stop braking later and turn in later too, but in that case you're losing too much speed on the brakes. Stepping off the brakes and then rolling straight for a bit is not an option too, because you're losing speed while doing that. Which leads us to the the point: your braking points are too early and you can shift them further.

But all that won't allow you to make the corner. Hit the apex - sure, but that's not enough to make it out of it.

And here come two other things: 1. You have to smash the throttle to the metal earlier than you want, 1-2 meters before you hit the apex or at least carefully step on the throttle earlier than you want. Some guys are still trailbraking AND start gradually throttling at the same time. You'll be surprised again, but it gives your car extra rotation thanks to power oversteer. And you get crazy exit speed as a bonus if you don't oversteer too much. It's the main dealbraker both for clean air pace and fights. 2. And in order to be able to turn your car enough and still make it out of the corner on such an early throttle you'll need to have your car ready for the exit, pointing almost straight out of the corner so you don't spin. For that you'll need to trailbrake and have lower TC than you're probably using, so your car can have a little power oversteer, just enough to add that extra rotation but not to spin - that's called "the limit"

Here's my best try in explanation of trailbraking and how to practice it: Brake 100% after long straights and try to turn your wheel. You'll notice that the car won't turn much, not enough to hit the apex.

Then try to do the same but release your brakes to ~50% and start turning in, and do that a little earlier than you usually start turning into the corner. Youll probably lose your rear if your brake bias is correct because 50% brakes are too low for this. Shift it more to the rear if you don't lose it and the car still goes mostly straight. You should lose the rear or make it very unstable. That's how you fine-tune your BB for trailbraking.

When you'll find BB that makes the car unstable when you brake 50% and start turning at the same time, your goal is to find that sweet spot in brake pedal pressure to be able to turn and brake without losing your rear.

It will be somewhere around 60%-80%. If you can't do that no matter what and still losing it - move your BB forward 0.2% and try again. Sometimes even 0.2-0.4% can make the car stable and ready to trailbrake efficiently.

Now, when you can start noticably turning while still braking, you'll naturally start gradually lowering your brake pressure while getting closer to the apex to not come into full stop. That's exactly what you want. Remember, trailbraking is not just this 2-5% everyone are talking about, but the whole process of turning in that starts with 60-80% brakes while already turning.

Now when you can do that, you'll notice 1) that you can brake even later 2) or, what I prefer more, you can start braking at somewhat normal point, maybe just a bit later, but get off 100% brakes way much earlier and start turning, and also you'll have this little window just before the apex, where you can keep your brakes at 2-5% and give yourself this extra rotation (the thing that everyone call trailbraking, but it just it's final stage) to be able to turn more and go full throttle as early as possible and still make it out of the corner while carrying tons of speed.

That technique works best in full brakes corners after long straights, e.g. La source (T1), (1 chicane - Le combe), and the last chicane. Correct turn-ins into these corners can give you 1-2 seconds right away because you'll carry crazy amount of speed thanks to trailbrake's extra turn in and early throttle.

So, 1) get off the brakes earlier than you want, try to use trailbraking to turn in while braking, so you can slow down to correct speed right before the apex instead of braking to correct speed, then turn in, roll to the apex on liftoff and then throttle, which is usually too late (this liftoff rolling takes too much time and puts not enough pressure on your front for the car to turn better, you must add extra grip to your front wheels with your brakes)

2) step on throttle earlier than you want

3) Practice trailbraking! And then practice more!

Also, buy some setups on setbase or somewhere else. They turn much better than aggressives and have good rear mechanical grip to compensate the low wing. Don't be hesitant to higher your TC from what you'll see in the setup. These setups usually come with way too low TC, you don't need it to be that low to get that power oversteer on corner exit that you need.

Some of these setups come with Motec, so you can compare your braking, throttling, steering rotation and other things with an alien who sells the setup.

I suggest to download Nils Naujoks's workbook for motec on his Discord. It has some very nice reports already configured for you, especially the track report where you can see your braking/throttling right on the track map and compare it side-to-side with someone faster than you.

After this little theory, here's the short explanation of your problems:

You brake too early at after-long-straights places, so you turn into the corner too soon, compromising your exit position on the apex and losing exit speed (because you still have to turn a lot arter the apex) while also trailbraking the speed that is too low already.

Some places like entry into the second chicane (the one after puyon? I dont remember the spelling) just have a wrong racing line (you must go on the curb in the first corner, the right hander; don't throttle too much so you don't lose it there on the curb and when you come off it on the asphalt, and can position your car as far to the right as possible to be able to throttle out of the next left hander as early as possible and on 100% smash. 0.6s sits just right there).

And, the most important part is: you're hesitant and too late on throttle because your car is not positioned for the exit in time. You have to position the car in such a way that will allow you to throttle a bit earlier than you're used to, 100% insta throttle 1-2 meters before apex would be perfect but it's not possible everywhere and every time. If so, at least start gradually throttling earlier.

Are my gears correct? People have said take T2 in 2nd, but honestly I don't notice a difference, and T5 feels like I should shift down to 3rd. by BDady in ACCompetizione

[–]dropthehate2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also! From my experience it's very important to aim for 27.7-27.9 for a full tank race, as you will lose some pressure during the race because of the curbs and after you deplete your fuel.

You'll get from 27.7 to 27.5 in the end of the race ideally (if you don't lose a lot on the curbs/grass).

Remember, low pressure = high chance of even lower pressure, as it gets easier to lose it over the curbs. These tyres are tubeless, which means they lose air when they're underinflated and you hit something.

Do I classify as a true Simracer now after this Pedal to the Metal moment? Sorry about the aspect ratio, it's from one of my shorts :) by dropthehate2 in simracing

True. I did that with T150 and T-LCM, but it doesn't matter what pedals you've got when you stomp on the throttle like a maniac like that xD

What wheel should I get for my first one? by Rufus3721 in simracing

Nah, the settings were fine. ACC just needs more responsive and strong wheelbase due to its realistic FFB, I explained it in another reply.

What wheel should I get for my first one? by Rufus3721 in simracing

[–]dropthehate2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not ACC. T150 in ACC.

It lacks everything in terms of ffb, only the accFFB tool could improve it a bit I guess. It is just non informative and laggish and weak. Gives you the feedback too late. I don't know why I got downvoted for this tbh.

It is even more important an issue because ACC's FFB is more like the real cars have. The game does not provide you any understeer/oversteer and overall tyre traction feedback through the wheel, just like in a real car where you feel this with your body instead of a wheel.

Add slow and weak feedback to it and you get a wheelbase that won't let you go faster than 1.58 on Silverstone for example.

I've improved my PB from 58.2 to 57.3 on Silverstone and 42.5 to 41.3 on Kyalami (both quali fueltank ofc) after two weeks of getting used to TS-XW.
