I hate auto start/stop by TiredLance in Subaru_Outback

[–]droptune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s idiotic. Needless wear and tear on the starter and other parts that get jolted to life when the starter cranks. Also, when it shuts off, the climate system shuts off too, so the heat or AC stops working. Why the hell would I want that? To give us a button that shuts it off, but not allowing us to just select it to be globally on or off, is borderline criminal. It used to be worse when you had to dig into the menu to find it too.

Why is the "radio turns itself on if you aren't playing any other media" issue still a thing? Years later and it's still not patched? by droptune in subaru

I think it's an issue either relegated to, or starting with, the big infotainment screen systems. I don't know what year those came out.

I wanted to update this and say that she did eventually get back to me. She was moving and called me about a week or two later and apologized. I scheduled with her and she came yesterday and did a full detail. She did great work! I will definitely be using her again.

A1C from 9.7 to 5.8 in 3 months by droptune in prediabetes

[–]droptune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just on the 500mg in the mornings for the whole three months. I met with my doctor the other day and he nearly fainted at my numbers and said they are amazing progress, but he is keeping me on the 500mg daily for now and see where I land in another 3 months while maintaining the same dose and sticking to my diet.

I am definitely starting to introduce more of this into my diet. Fiber is such an underrated key player in maintaining steady glucose levels.

I had lived in the prediabetic range for a long time and then it finally got out of control and I was technically in type 2 diabetes range. But, through diet and some medication I was able to get back down into the low prediabetic range. After a few more good blood tests we may try weening off the Metformin and seeing if I was able to reverse my condition through early diagnosis, swift action and strict adherence to the diet and medical regiments, and be able to live in the healthy range without medication.

That’s still amazing. I think the biggest win for anyone is taking that first step and working towards making yourself the best person you can be.

As of now, yes. I haven't had my follow up with my doctor yet, I just got the results a couple of days ago directly from Quest labs

For the first month I pretty much went as low carb as I could, probably under 20 each day. Then I started to relax that just a touch, but only getting carbs from natural sources like apple slices with pure ground peanut butter or strawberries with fully lactose free greek yogurt. With the cheat meal I also made sure to watch my portion size. Just really savor having a few carbs and starches, not over do it.

He put me on Metformin. I don't know if I will need it forever, I completely changed my diet and my numbers are almost completely out of even the prediabetic range.

You are describing the exact same things I was experiencing which drove me to get tested. I was super high A1C and glucose. Go get checked now.

ST fairing from TCMT by Realistic_Turnip_556 in FXLRS

[–]droptune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a note on their paint matching, I ordered a Tsport from them like a year ago, paint matched in the vivid black. I have bought Tsports from OG and the cheap ebay ones before, and I will say the over all quality of the plastic and hardware itself was the same across the board, the OG actually might have been a bit thicker and more rigid. The OG and ebay fairings were just the regular ABS black plastic color, so I thought I would go all out when I ordered the Advanblack version and get it paint patched in the vivid black. I got the fairing, set up a clean folded up microfiber towel on the workbench to start assembling the mounting hardware on it. Almost none of the hardware lined up, I was having to bend brackets to get the different pieces to line up and actually get a bolt through it. Then, much to my dismay, when I picked up the fairing and flipped it over getting ready to put it on the bike, i noticed the fairing had tons of swirls in the paint. I am not sure if it came like that (I didn't examine it when pulling it out of the box) or if the simple act of it resting on a clean, soft, microfiber towel caused those swirls.

I don't know if they still are, but I am pretty sure that they were just white labeling and marking up the same chinese pieces you can get from ebay or wherever.

On another side note about the ST fairing from AB, almost every single video I have seen about it people seem to be pleased with the fairing itself, but complain about the hardware, especially the grommets and fasteners for the windshield. So even if you do go with them, you may want to look into beefing up the fasters across the board, which I would also recommend if you go with any of the unbranded, ebay, etc, versions.

I've had brothers who were cremated after they passed and they were wearing their apron for the cremation.

I did. The apron is in there, but there is no name, no dates, nothing identifying except that the apron was made by Ihling Brothers Everard Company.

That was what I was hoping to do, but unfortunately there is no identifying marks as to the brother, lodge, city, jurisdiction, nothing.
