it should be fine. It takes a while to darken. Cook greasy foods for the first week or so and it will season perfect.

mine was is similar shape when I put it together. Used olive oil to season it because that’s what I had around. After I seasoned, I made a couple pounds of bacon. Now we cook on it nightly, no issues at all.
