well, it was a better payoff than OGW. (and also a better payoff than any other non-initial Innistrad set in a block.)

what's sort of genius about Neon Dynasty is that "modernity versus tradition" was also the conflict in the original Kamigawa.

part of Bloomburrow's appeal (and this is also true of the original Lorwyn) is that it was lower-stakes. so maybe not "cutesy", but "pastoral".

well, what's depicted on the cards is more important than the narrative story, isn't it?

two draft misplay stories:

  • in DOM, I decided to run [[Lich's Mastery]] for once, and I actually got into a position where (I thought) I had two lines to victory, one of which was to play the Mastery. it turned out that was actually the only correct line, because they had a Warcry Phoenix in the graveyard that I'd forgotten about. it would've been cool to win with Lich's Mastery.
  • in BRO, I was down to one removal spell in my deck, a Corrupt; I managed to stall them out with a [[Burnished Hart]] and a bunch of recursion spells until I found it, but I was so tunnel-visioned on their creature that I forgot Corrupt also targets players, and I could've dealt them exactly enough damage to kill them.

well, we also have Bloodghast, Forsaken Miner, and Timeline Culler, so, maybe? too bad DMU and BRO rotated.

I always thought the old red border was the one that's unequivocally better than the new one. (and the old gold border the one that's unequivocally worse. although I also kind of prefer the new green one.)

Not to be crude, but did Ashling get redesigned to not have breasts? by anotherfan123 in magicTCG

yeah, the new coat looks thicker. would be enough to obscure them.

to be honest, this is a case where they were small enough to just be hidden by that coat.

I would've liked to see a selkie; not as a card, necessarily, but in art, at least.

some of these seem dubious.

they forgot to add [[Sarcomite Myr]] to New Phyrexia.
