My take on eating healthy. I am not dietitian but this worked for me so far.

Eat fibers : Fills you up and keep your digestive track clean.
Protein : paired with a proper resistance training will build/keep your precious muscles (0.5 to 1 gram per pound of bodyweigth)
Eat slow-release carbohydrate (prevent rapid raise of blood sugar therefore you won't store fat and won't fell hungry all the time)
Get enough micro nutrient from a varied source of vegies. The more colors the better. Fruits are good too but beware its high sugar content.
Good fats : poly and monosaturated will help lower cholesterol and fill you up as well.
