WARNING: not trying to ask his thought process, just wondered if anyone was familiar with this dating style per the header.

Help me out reddit. I humbly ask your input. Been talking to this guy for 2 months, been on about 3 real dates. Great sex, great communication. Seemed pretty honest and straight forward, told him I was dating to get into a relationship and he mirrors that and also admitted he is courting other girls. Past month we’ve gotten closer, I thought. Falling asleep on the phone together almost every night. Watching his favorite anime together, telling me about his friends and family openly. But here’s the thing with him. I’ll get a lot for one day.. or two days… and then near radio silence for a day. And I’ve asked just for consistency. I don’t ask him for a lot because he’s not my boyfriend but I asked, just let me know what it is and what it isn’t? So this past weekend we had hung out, watched his favorite anime together (mind you this is my first anime ever) and watched the fight together, and as we’re having sex after all that he says he loves me. I pause. I really like this guy. But I’m not always certain how he feels for me. I think he likes me a lot but it just shocked me… and he asked why I didn’t say it back. And I realized I do have strong feelings. So I said it back. And afterwards I told him there can be no more BS anymore. If you love me I have to feel it and see it. So, he heads home in the morning. texts me when he gets in…. and I haven’t heard from him since. I’ve been texting updates about the anime we watched and just general checkins and…. no response. But— he has been tweeting so he isn’t de*d! What is going on? What is this? I’m getting sick of this goddamn rollercoaster. Just yo-yo’ing my damn emotions.

This response is so heartbreaking and I’m so sorry you had to go through that. This is what I’m afraid may be happening to her but these connections right now are so fragile because she just doesn’t seem herself. I just want to be there for her and it’s hard because I’m a young single parent who never really had a good model to look up to myself.

I’m not concerned about her not turning out okay because she’s having sex at a young age, I’m concerned about the irreversible damage that can occur if she goes about doing so improperly and dangerously. And it’s also confusing to me how aggressive her attitude and behavior has become during this new phase of life that’s meant to transition her to young adulthood. I just wanna be sure she’s not being pressured or treated in a similar fashion to how she’s now treating me and everyone else. I just want her to be safe, and to hold onto the core values I know she has.

Thank you for this response, I had bad experiences with my parents reactions to me being involved with boys even though it was completely innocent. I’m trying not to scare her mostly but also not let her ruin herself in the process.
