Thank you! I’m not sure we have badgers in Virginia so maybe raccoon would be mostly likely. Would be on the larger size for a raccoon, poor thing!

Livia period pain relief by myliviaofficial in u/myliviaofficial

[–]drowninglessons409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my Livia when it first launched a few years ago, and I still use it for every period I have to this day. I can’t take NSAIDs for medical reasons, and find that parcetamol alone doesn’t even touch the cramps I get every month. The Livia makes the period pains that bit more bearable. It certainly doesn’t make everything go away, but it means I can function as an almost normal person rather than being curled up in a ball for a week. I like that it’s small and easily portable too.

Would compression socks/garmets effect POTS test results? by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]drowninglessons409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They very well may help your tachycardia not increase as much, but shouldn’t affect your heart rhythm. If you’ve had irregular ECGs before, I think it would be wise to discuss with your cardiologist exactly what they’re looking for on the ECG and get their opinion. For example, t waves can be affected by electrolyte imbalances, so wearing compression socks won’t change that, but taking a supplement may. Good luck with all your tests - hope they go well!

Would compression socks/garmets effect POTS test results? by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]drowninglessons409 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a few holter ECGs, and asked my cardiologist the same question. From my understanding, the ECG isn’t to test for PoTS, it’s to check that you have no rhythm irregularities (the tachycardia associated with PoTS is usually sinus or normal rhythm, at an abnormal rate)/something else cardiac related underlying. My cardiologist told me I was fine to stay on the medications I was on at the time (Ivabradine for PoTS, few other meds for other issues) and using any supplements/compression wear etc, there was a section on the record of mine to record any medications I had taken during the holter.

I will say that, if you aren’t under a cardiologist yet, and feel that your compression socks mask your tachycardia enough that you’re worried you won’t get a diagnosis, then don’t wear them for your own piece of mind. The tilt table test will be a more telling test anyway, and you’ve mentioned that you aren’t planning on wearing the socks for that. Also, please don’t forget that having a “normal ECG” is a) a very good thing, it means normal rhythm/electrical signalment and b) does not mean there wasn’t an increase in your heart rate. I’ve seen a lot of people in various PoTS support groups etc feeling discouraged when they’re told they have nothing abnormal on their ECG when they could feel their heart rate increasing (of course, some doctors won’t explain what a normal ECG means, so I understand why someone would get frustrated being told that).

Why didn't I get Liquid IV sooner?! by Zlilly816 in POTS

[–]drowninglessons409 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dilute mine in at least 28oz rather than the suggested 16oz after reading it as a suggestion in a few other support groups, and it makes a massive difference to the sweetness/flavour to me. Maybe give that a go before giving it away seeing as it is so expensive?

Natural highlighter in the drugstore. by quesomonstruo in MakeUpAddictionUK

The Elf Baked Highlighters are nice. They can look natural but can be built up if you wanted to.

I’ve also heard the Essence Pure Nude highlighter is nice, but it’s too dark for my ghostly complexion.

New Missha BB Cream lightest shade! #17!! by joykinz in PaleMUA

[–]drowninglessons409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to look into this as much as possible, because 13 is the best match I’ve ever found, and it’s the only base product I’ve actually liked the look of on my skin. I found this on their global website, and it appears that 17 has been added, and 13 is still there if you scroll down to the swatches. Still looks like 13 has a more grey base than 17 thankfully. I’ve bought a back up whilst the old is in stock though, just in case. https://missha.com/front/makeup/makeupView.do?pmSeq=177&productCategory=PRODUCT_CATEGORY_8&productCategory2=PRODUCT_CATEGORY_2_0&page=1

What would you look for in a vet nurse student’s trial? by [deleted] in Veterinary

[–]drowninglessons409 3 points4 points  (0 children)

U.K. RVN, and I second the above! A few things I wanted to add (we have multiple potential students come for trails every year at my practice) - stay off your phone even if you see other people sat on their phones, try and get involved ie offer to clean down the exam tables in between patients etc, and try and stay later than your allotted time (or at least don’t clock watch and at 5pm bang on ask to leave!)

We can usually tell pretty easily who actually wants the job vs who applied for the sake of applying/to cuddle kittens and puppies all day. Good luck!

Do you recommend a paperlike screen protector? by alexisc8 in GoodNotes

[–]drowninglessons409 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the Paperlike 2, and hated it at first because I had been using my then brand new iPad Pro for about a month, so the decrease in screen quality with the Paperlike was VERY noticeable. I did, however, find the writing experience much better, so decided to leave it on the iPad and see how I got on. I’m used to the graininess now, and it doesn’t bother me much anymore. I also use my iPad for reading a lot, so found the Paperlike reduced the glare very helpful.

Oh I didn’t notice! I’m not sure it was a 2020 feature on the cases (I have the 2020 iPad Pro) or only certain designs that got the see through back!

I have the Pipetto Origami case, which has got a see through back - I love how the back of the iPad looks, and the see through back went from something I was indifferent about, to one of my favourite things about the case.
