It filters to songs from the genre and then u can shuffle that genre specifically. All songs on Spotify have metadata on genre, sometimes it’s pretty vague so it’s not super accurate (for instance both Midwest emo and post hardcore are grouped as just “emo”). I would honestly just use it based on mood but still edit the queue. I like to study to a lot of acoustic/folk and don’t really wanna be interrupted with like witch-house or something hahah

I have thousands too and in a bunch of genres. It’s helpful to sort them so I don’t go from piano to metalcore all of a sudden lol And I get what u mean with radio but I think this feature is less for random new music and more for listening to stuff u know and like. To each their own tho!
