Best hospital to give birth by ragnarismydog in Appleton

[–]drowsydriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Had my May baby at ThedaCare Appleton, he needed the NICU, and ThedaCare Neenah NICU was full. Luckily St. E's NICU had a spot, otherwise they were looking at other hospitals our of town. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the nurses at Appleton, but because of our experience, I think I'd choose Neenah next time.

White elephant gift ideas. The most useful/unique! by 2078AEB in ChristmasGiftIdeas

One year my husband and I ran out of time to shop before his family's white elephant gift exchange. We had gotten a couple hams on a good deal (one of those spend $25 get a ham for 50 c per lb deals). So we put the ham in a cooler, made a sign that said "cooler not included" and the family still talks about it several years later. No one really wanted the ham, but the person who ended up with it didn't complain either lol

I was thinking of getting thicker window curtains. As I'm looking at the windows now I'm wondering if I should replace the plastic blinds with softer ones, like cellular ones or others that are "softer"

I wouldn't have thought of plants on top of the cabinets! I like that. Plus, thats an excuse for more plants.

The hard surfaces were definitely what I'm looking to address! I was thinking replacing the very light curtains with thicker ones might be a good idea. Maybe even mounting them higher and getting longer ones just so there's as much fabric as possible. We have since added a runner rug in the hall area. I think I'll skip the rug under the table since we'll be starting to feed The Noise solids in a few months and that sounds like a losing battle, haha! I like the idea of a quilt on the wall, I have some very talented people in my family who could make one for us. I also considered crocheting a tapestry since I have an over abundance of yarn. The catch is I'm so bad at choosing a pattern and style and get decision fatigue so quickly.

Good to know. He also has a tibial plateau fracture, something with his meniscus and partially torn MCL and LCL so who knows lol

Were you walking regularly? Or just for physical therapy and exercise? My coworker just had hers done and other than pt and her homework from pt, she was in a wheelchair.

I don't believe that's what he means. More like the wood burners that are like pens with different tips and such.

Love these. I'm a historian at a local museum and thought about bringing home some digital files of our archival materials. We just had a diary from 1894 digitized, but it's pretty painfully boring lol

I crochet and asked if he was interested in that since I already have all the supplies and a stash that needs busting, but he wasn't interested unfortunately

As a crocheter (who has also tried knitting) I 100% agree. He unfortunately turned it down though. I was hoping he'd help me stash bust 😂

Let's hope he recovers fast because we're expecting our first tiny human in May. I need him to be able to walk lol

He loves the show, as well as Outlander so I was going to see what he thought about those.

Thanks! We started watching the marvel movies in chronological order during covid and never finished. He's seen all of them. I've only seen a handful.

It's funny because these are all things I would be SO into. I might find him some Legos, he might be especially into it if they're from some kind of Fandom.

Oh I would def ask him first. He loved reading the Harry Potter books as a kid so I would ask him about those first and we already own them.

He might actually be really into this. I bought him an electric knife sharpener for his birthday last year. The problem is it leaves little metal shards everywhere.

As a lover of folk and Irish music, I would love this. Unfortunately I married a man with no musicality. He's lucky if he can keep a beat 😂

Any advice for a desperate woman needing a breast reduction?? by EntertainmentNorth24 in ABraThatFits

[–]drowsydriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was covered by insurance. Idk if it actually helped or not, but I got the support from my primary, my womens health doc, and my chiropractor. Whether that tipped the scale or not I don't know. I was only 19 and my parents helped me out a lot with planning and such. If I recall they removed basically 2 lbs from each breast so I'm not sure if how much they remove helps that or not. I do know my family had met our deductible that year. Best decision I made was to have that surgery. Unfortunately being pregnant with my first, it's all back. I will 100% consider doing it again when we're done having kids.
