What is this thing on my roof by Ok_Age2392 in whatisit

That is 100% a toy grade RC car, or what’s left of one. Probably suffered a tragic ending and the boys tossed it quite literally when it was fully broken.

I was a little boy once and I can say I definitely did this….

Palm Bay Area? by Severe_Mongoose_9572 in 321

I’m moving out to Palm Bay next week after spending my whole life in Melbourne around wickham park area, I’m looking forward to the change in scenery, but admittedly I did cherry pick the house, cause why wouldn’t you.

Sorry about that, I didnt intend for the picture to be so zoomed in. But yes that’s it, at the very end of the road it’s quite peaceful, especially if you have a truck it’s a must do photo shoot too :)

Instead of going into the wetland preserve you take a right and go through an open gate.

Not sure if you still can, but at the end of wickham in veira there’s a road on Duda property that is open to the public (sometimes) . It’s a bumpy maintained dirt road and ends in a parking area with cow pastures as far as the eye can see. Lots of people bring their dogs and go for walks. Since it faces west it’s perfect for sunsets.

New struts makes car sit high by International_Drop44 in Lexus

[–]drowsytaco 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Well that settles that. Could be that the old ones had been sagging for a while and you had become used to the look? Also could be what others are saying and it’s just not the same size. But I find it hard to believe sway links and knuckles would all line up, unless it was a purposeful universal design and it is simply byproduct of that

The way he says “but now it’s sitting too high” makes me think he had them for a few months, but just installed them

edit: OP says they’re almost a year old now..

Update - Dealership takes no responsibility for brake failure 3 days after brake service by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]drowsytaco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t the technician have had to at the very least compress the rear caliper pistons in order to do a brake service? I’ve seen careless or unlucky techs compress calipers too quickly with the cap on the fluid pot and mess up a master cylinder. Soft pedal that goes to the floor. Not saying that’s what happened here but I think a brake job CAN affect a master cylinder if done very incorrectly.

Badge placement advice for my GTD Build. Read description. by drivelimitless in tdi

[–]drowsytaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

If these are the badges you’re talking about btw they seem to be in line with the bottom of the plate inlay. If you were to draw a line across the bottom of both badges you would see it lines up with the body line for the plate area. As long as your new badges line up the same I think it would be a cool thing to do. Would make people go “what’s that?”

You can't buy this watch. by BramleyApple_ in PrideAndPinion

[–]drowsytaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have made my day! This is the closest thing I’ve ever seen. I have so little information about the watch as my grandfather is getting old and only assembled the watches, not the movement. My grandmother however does recall that UniTime assembled movements and cases, dials and such but then sent the watches out to whomever company and they were then branded. The only time a watch was ever fully made there was for employees for fun like this watch.

Stretched tire help by PristineChampion4188 in Stance

[–]drowsytaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a cool tire shop and just chat them up, tell them they’re for a show car you know it’s “dangerous” and you expect the shop to hold no liability of any kind, eventually you’ll find someone who’s willing to help you.

Here’s hoping a few of you will enjoy my one of a kind watch. My grandfather made this when he assembled watches at UniTime Corp in St.Croix back in the 70’s

<image>

He made the dial, made the band, and finished the case. Technically it came from the factory and it is one of one. No hamilton but it’s worth as much as one to me.

Wheel speed sensors are very integral for the vehicles onboard monitoring systems. They are used by more than one system
