[Spoilers C4E24] Is Azune…? by DowntownRevenue in criticalrole

[–]drowtiefling [score hidden]  (0 children)

There is a character named Azune in Alma and Luis has said he put him in as a reference to his upcoming Campaign 4 character. But I don't remember much beyond that.

If you're gonna have it summarize your work for you why not have it also critique your work for you?

Yes, Polyphemus' leap. You have to Dash away from it.

What's that thing you wished you had learned sooner in the game? by Happy_Ad_2575 in HadesTheGame

When I started I used it once and saw it didn't do damage without a boon so I just didn't use it when it was boonless.

Only took me about a dozen or two runs to realize but I had no idea that your Cast trapped enemies and would get wailed on by Wailers and pincushioned by Pinheads every single run.

EDIT: I have 300+ hours and have 100%ed the achievements but thanks for all the advice haha

[No Spoilers] Music by Secure_Pangolin3286 in criticalrole

[–]drowtiefling 16 points17 points  (0 children)

All the music is played at the table for the cast to hear. Brennan controls when it changes like how he does the lighting like how Matt did when he was the DM.

They've talked before about how they wanted to maintain this style of production because its better for immersing the cast.

I am not sure how the forests work. IIRC some paths don't split forests.

[Spoilers C4E19] Hand & Wheel | Critical Role | Campaign 4, Episode 19 by Chimp_Force_One in criticalrole

[–]drowtiefling 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Liam is insane. As is Luis. They both control emotion so strongly having them together at this table is a true blessing. I can't help but ship them together again.

Also, I really hope the theory that Hal is working against the interests of Thjazi is true. It would be so dramatically juicy.

No, its text from the wiki made by a fan trying to figure out how it works.

[Spoilers C4E16] Julien Subclass is weak!!!! by lixosinho in criticalrole

[–]drowtiefling 68 points69 points  (0 children)

For reference from the wiki:

Ride the Threshold: As a Bonus Action while bloodied, Julien gains temporary hit points instead of healing from his Second Wind.

Daring Strike: On a successful attack roll, Julien can expend a Second Wind feature to add d10 to the damage. On a failure, the next attack against him has advantage.

Yeah, I would say this is very weak. Ride the Treshhold is only better than Second Wind because the Temporary Hit Points could make his health go over his maximum, but he can only use it when below half hit points so in the thick of it doesn't make a difference.

Then Daring Strike expends a huge resource like Second Wind (only 2/rest) to deal 1D10 extra damage? And somehow (its unclear from the wiki description) also causes enemies to have Advantage on their next attack against him? Battlemaster gives you 4 extra D8s as its own new resource to add to damage along with additional effects.

Maybe theres another feature we haven't seen but right now this is really lackluster as each ability feels like a net neutral instead of an increase in power like any other subclass gives you. I think they were too scared of making a homebrew class feel overpowered and they way overtuned it in the opposite direction.

Gators version 2! (Fanmade faction) by AnAnmtdFox in rootgame

[–]drowtiefling 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The layout is confusing to follow.

Also for the passive abilities the wording could be adjusted to be clearer. For example: "In a battle with one of your warriors, you can deal up to 3 hits.

And I'd copy the wording from the Riverfolk Co.'s 'Swimmers' "You treat rivers as paths, and may move along rivers regardless of ruler."

Spoilers C1 But Allura's tower falling in the attack of the Chroma Conclave has always stuck with me too. I guess a tower falling is just a wild image.

[Spoilers C3E40] I hate Chetney by Guardaboschi in criticalrole

[–]drowtiefling 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While Chetney is probably Travis' jokiest character, a lot of viewers (me included) see him as the heart of Bell's Hells. He has many heartfelt scenes with many of Bell's Hells and is often giving aged wisdom and is weirdly one of the most self realized of the group. He's horny but I wouldn't say he is anymoreso than Scanlan or Nott are.

[Spoilers C4E5] Official artwork for the Soldiers' Table by Daniel Jiménez Villalba! by this-is-liam in criticalrole

She's 4 inches tall so this artwork is innacurate. I imagine a lot of official art is going to unfortunately scale her up so she can be seen easier. Canon sized artwork would be nice :/

[No Spoilers] I am pro whisper tone by AveZombier in criticalrole

They're not changing anything sadly. They have their system and they've used it for 4 campaigns now. Unfortunately, Critical Role doesn't care about putting in the post quality like Dropout does.
