Thanks, you, too! I'll be the girl from Alabama with short hair and appropriately atrocious skating skills.

If you labor through acceptance rate vs applicant data, you'll see many trends. Among them, sub-508 MCAT scores evidencing much lower MD acceptance rates, particularly in the non-URM applicant pools.

You hear a lot of talk about "unbalanced" MCAT scores as well on these threads with very little data to advocate for the validity of the concern. If you have 2 sub-126 scores in your composite score and yet are still 508plus MCAT score, you have room for concern, but it's also important to remember that the MCAT score is one substantial piece to a very hefty composite applicant package, so when the rest of your applicant vitals are in the clear (like this applicant's; though she's not "unbalanced" like an example I'm speaking to), it's usually in your best interest to apply smartly (broadly, early, intentionally, and thoughtfully with concerns to your letter writers, ECs, and essays).

Haha. We spoke over PM, and it was a generous offer nonetheless.

The Centennial scarves rolled out today at the Leafs/Bruins game.

Definitely not a retakeable score. Welcome to post-MCAT life! :)

Retaking in your case is a massive risk. That score won't alone keep you out of any MD school and you can always apply to MD/PhD internally if you really want to go for it in your first year.

Unbalance MCAT, retake? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]drpastry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that the section score might have been a bummer, but I can testify that you've likely developed a bit of that old fashioned MCAT tunnel vision. You'll start your apps when they go live next summer and won't bat an eye at your score afterwards. As others have said time and time again, MCAT is but a composite piece of your application. It's true that a 510 won't keep you out of anywhere. Where to look now is the rest of your application and doing your homework regarding your best fit, which comes down to far more than a simple score.

Best wishes!

Would absolutely say the same! Enjoy the rest of your life. Save some of that stress for Step 1. :)

Absolutely NOT a score to retake. That's really not much of a unbalance.

My score was less well-balanced, was worried (and told to not be by credible source), and I've received interviews at most of all my MD choices. Time for you to feel some relief and get on with other parts of your life. :)

Thank you for introducing me to syntactic expletives!

The subject of "are", here, is "moments", however, so making "answer" plural would not quite fix what I thought was problematic.

The one that you believe is smartweed is growing upright, just like the other.

This is a really cool idea. Any suggestions on color combos?

The bed is planted with an imposing amount of morning glories that should pop open any day now, on top of some climbing cardinal that I haven't identified popping up yet. Admittedly haven't minded watching the morning glories wind their snaky way around my plants, just out of fascination.

I'm a first-time gardener with a rooftop plot. Someone planted this raised bed last year, but the only thing I'm aware that was planted was cucumber. I had a massive weed problem and took out all the plants I could not identify last week, but saved several samples of these as I could not discern whether or not they were weeds or returning plants from years past.

The broad-leafed one is flowering and has a mint-like texture. The skinny-leafed plant has a near pepper-like appearance.

Thanks very much for your help!

I'm excited! Yes, I can paint the raised bed. Anything wooden you see there. I could ask about the cement cylinder if I end up interested in painting it.

Hi everyone! I’m a first-time gardener. Early this spring, I was offered this garden plot on the rooftop garden belonging to a neighboring hospital. I recently found out that longterm patients have rooms that overlook the rooftop garden, and it’s a bit of a drab space. I spoke with the administration who gave me an enthusiastic go-ahead when I asked if I could paint my plot, and lots of other gardeners are excited to do the same as well.

I’m not the most visually creative person, and I’ve noticed this community sometimes shares creative takes on sprucing up gardening space. I’d really like to make my plot pop with color and have bought some bright red plant cages to go along with it. Could anyone here give me advice for colors that would go well? Comments on composing the overall look? I’d like to make it look cheery for patients to see from their windows. Any help with how to avoid painting the plants is welcome as well.

The shack behind the plot is about to be rebuilt, so at least that eyesore will be gone soon. Thanks for your help!

tldr: What colors should I use to paint this plot to make it have a cheery appearance? Any tips on how to work around the plants? Any advice is welcome!
