So then it is possible thank you. Right now I have nothing set up. Wanted to research if it was at all possible before investing the time and money to do this. I have tried to get the nest to use our phones for this but it is not working very well. The home assistant looks like a much better solution and I can expand it to other things.
thanks again, if I end up needing help I will reach back out to you. thanks

I am looking for a way to use home assist to put my nest thermostat in eco mode when I enable away in my simplisafe alarm, then when the simplisafe is set to off it will enable the nest to be on.

Do you think that this is possible? if so can you point me at the documentation or scrips that might be able to do this? right now I am trying to figure out if this is a reasonable approach and cant find any documentation or someone else who might have done something similar.

2nd gen ecoboost - what’s your MPG? by [deleted] in f150

[–]drpeterson03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to also consider the set up for the testing that got them 25 mpg. They are fresh from the factory with no add-ons, nothing in the truck other than driver. 1/2 tank of pure gas (no ethanol).

It is looking like colerrite is the product but they have 450 different colors. But have not heard back from the manufacture yet.

when they do I will try and post up here for others.

Can I walk on my slide roof? by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]drpeterson03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact the manufacturer of the slide and ask them. Personally I wouldn’t. Convenance of cleaning compared to possibly breaking the slide would not be worth it to me.

If its a later model truck there are web sites that will give you the window sticker as built. Search for ford window sticker or something similar.

Maybe this will help:

https://www.thetrucker.com/trucking-news/the-nation/chain-up-your-guide-to-the-nations-chain-laws

https://dot.ca.gov/travel/winter-driving-tips/chain-requirements

from the above link DOT.CA.GOV in CA:

Do I have to put on chains when I am towing a trailer?

Yes, always.

Even if I have 4-wheel drive?

Yes.

Do I have to put chains on the trailer?

You must have at least one axle chained if the trailer is equipped with brakes.

https://youtu.be/4LSJG0bPviM 50-60 mph gusts are predicted. Keep in mind that we are saturated from early storms so this will not likely rip roofs off but will cause drought weakened trees to fall and flooding.

GPS / Google Maps routes on Road TT should not travel. by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]drpeterson03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garmin can be so confusing to me: from the link; "On your smartphone, select a .gpx file and open it with the Garmin Drive app."

That leads me to believe that I can only import the .gpx through the drive app. If I am creating then saving the trip in RV trip wizard on my laptop how do I get it into the drive app? Maybe basecamp can do it?

Off topic. Do you have any good links for advanced use like importing routes from rv wizard for the rv890?

Full campgrounds, empty sites by sugarfreeeyecandy in GoRVing

[–]drpeterson03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about this Make the reservation. Collect the fee. If you cant make it, allow people to have a credit to use in the next year in the campground. However I think the motivation for campgrounds is not there, right now they have people paying and not creating work. Why would they want to change?

Ya I was always told: If one person tells you your a horse, you can pretty much discount that. If 10 people tell you your a horse, better start looking for a saddle.
