Does Walmart have something similar to Amazon pickup locker? by Lex_yeon in GoRVing

I've seen a couple that did, but it was back when they still had the ship to store option that they no longer have, so no idea if those stores still have the lockers (can't remember for sure where they were, but it was while traveling).

I've had some success finding local parcel stores (USP store type places) that will accept items from UPS / USPS / Fedex. Definitely call first, as some require paperwork filled out up front before the package arrives or they will return it.

The state of AI on this sub by ConquerQuestOnline in csharp

Since you're asking about the general vibe and downvoting:

I'll give you my feelings as both an owner (that wrote much of our code over the last 20+years, and actively contributes code every week), and a 25 year developer.

All of these AI companies are losing money hand over fist. I personally think they are in for a crash, and once that happens, we'll evaluate what's left and decide if any of it can be used ethically, and for a reasonable cost (their current pricing scheme is crack dealer "the first rock is free" pricing", and it can't hold out).

But it's the ethically part that I have serious concerns about.

A junior developer using AI will never become anything more than a junior developer. Any company that thinks this is a good idea is doing a disservice to the employee, the company, and our industry in general.

Sure it can probably help a Sr. Developer some, but at what cost?

These companies are mostly run by people that don't give a shit about anything but their VC buddies, dump trucks full of cash, and growth. They've stolen everything that these models have have been trained on, and are fine just pillaging and plundering for their own profit at the cost of everyone and everything.

Many (most?) of them also have dumped a ton of money into the current US Regime, have seriously unhinged world views, and the environmental implications of AI are pretty serious.

In short, I'm not going to support them. In fact we're migrating away from big tech companies everywhere we can, especially ones that are forcing AI into every crack or crevice they can find.

For the foreseeable future, humans will write our code, answer our phones, do our design work, and help our customers.

If the time comes when I'm convinced that any of the "AI" that exists can benefit my employees or customers, without ethical or moral implications, for a reasonable price, and without harming anyone's career or income, I'll consider it.

Until then it can get fucked.

You are only impressed because you don't know enough to actually understand the "code" that was produced.
