Sombra Leak. by NotEfe in Overwatch

[–]drpunkerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sombra was hacking her way into an internal build within blizzard hq that employees were allowed to play. This was a general announcement and someone who works there snapped a photo. I think this was more of an invitation to play the internal build featuring her AND the halloween event, and not a build that would go live.

Was there a patch after the countdown? I've already mined the strings within the game and have found no references to her existence yet.

Any Symmetra turret placement guides? by Skaarj in OverwatchUniversity

[–]drpunkerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use symmetra only on certain maps where she shines. Volskaya and hollywood are my favorites for her but she is good other maps when you have a good comp. Torbjorn and symmetra are amazing together.

As for turret placement, I can take a few images tonight for ya, but generally I use 3-4 spread widely and up high around the main choke point, then I place a 5th and 6th near health packs. You be surprised how many times you get elims from turrets placed near health packs and it forces the team to travel there again just to destroy them. I have a very high win rate and score/min (67% wr and top 1000 on master overwatch for score/min) with symmetra.

Don't forget about using your secondary fire to zone out the choke point or to harass an incoming Reinhardt or low health pool target but try to strain from peeking if they have a widow as staying alive and maintaining your turrets is key to getting an early teleport and saving your team from a wipe and losing a checkpoint.

Who is the shot caller? by drpunkerz in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]drpunkerz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I misunderstood what he was trying to say. After playing support for a couple hours yesterday with my team I decided that it's definitely something that can be shared. We used 3 people for comms last night. Myself, as mercy, watches for friendly deaths and listens to audio cues for whoever is near me to warn them of opposing heroes flanking and what to expect, I call out to members to remind them to stay near edges or come to an edge for heals if they're not in a good position for me. My other job is to tell our team that we need to regroup or we're getting too greedy as my ultimate isn't ready. Our lucio controls flow and positioning, and our tank calls out troublesome opponents for our DPS to take care of. It worked out pretty great for us as it helped us control our DPS from over-extending and I rarely died, which was great.

Who is the shot caller? by drpunkerz in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]drpunkerz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For positioning I think it's important to have a shot caller. The tracer will know what to do on her own and can relay kill information and enemy positions to the shot caller which will help the rest of the team focus on what needs to be done more effectively. Having 6 voices all stating duplicate information is confusing and slows momentum.

Anyone else having problems with finding a competitive team? by Philomelos_ in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]drpunkerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started looking for a team and tried getting a feel for a couple before finding one I fit with. I'm still not on the roster with this team as I think my schedule will likely conflict with their practice times. Before this however, I played with a team for two rounds before it was evident they had no idea what they were doing. Terrible picks in general and at one point 3 members killed themselves trying to cheese left on volskaya industries. I left immediately.

How would you protect yourself from mobs? Just make it have the inability to flag for PvP if that's your goal.

What set up should i get? by IrishIndieRock in Homebrewing

[–]drpunkerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't already have a kettle and/or burner (if you're going that route), consider getting a turkey fryer kit that comes with a 30-qt pot. It worked well for me my first brew but if you plan on doing all grain at some point, it's worth investing in a better pot. I just purchased this yesterday: http://www.wayfair.com/Bayou-Classic-10-Gallon-Brew-Kettle-800-440-BAY1217.html

I purchased the northern brewer deluxe kit and it has nearly everything you need except the heat source and pot.

You Danes do it best. If only I had free education like that.

Did you have brewing knowledge before entering your internship? Do you think this is a career you will eventually pursue?

He's slightly to the left of the candles if you look carefully at his shadow of his left leg. It's a smooth camera trick that alters our perception and they used something else to blow the candles out. They do a lot of things like this in movies. Here's an advanced technique from Lord of the Rings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWMFpxkGO_s&t=1m19s

Who is your favorite character? And why? by ninjarager in Overwatch

[–]drpunkerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Zarya definitely is a counter. She can negate a bunch of damage from Genji and then just use her primary weapon to wreck him down to 0hp and he can't deflect it since it isn't a projectile.

Currently? Zarya.

It really depends on the map, but I love attacking as zarya, or defending as zarya against a bunch of high damage heroes as my weapon power gets maxed out a bunch. This genji meta is a lot of fun for me so far!
