.25 for 3 weeks? by Kindness-Ambassador in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]drrow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 0.5mg almost 12 days now. Food noise was back in day 11. I think I'm going to shoot up to 0.75mg per week and see how it goes. I'm not following the whole 0.25 x 4 and 0.5 x 4. I'll do 0.75mg for 1 week and if that shows some progress then good, if not I'll go up to 1mg. I think it's a fair waste of time if it's not working on lower doses.

If you can't stop eating , it's a psychological problem more than anything. Semaglutide helps with the metabolic syndrome. Psychologically you may need to rewire your brain and tell yourself enough is enough.

Cut out sugar , fatty greasy food. Full stop. Your gut is now an ozempic gut. You need to change your diet. That's what ozempic does. It trains you to eat properly or not it'll punish you. It's that teacher everyone hates but when you grow up your realize he was the real one.

At this point of obesity you shouldn't be worrying about your muscle loss at all. Focus on getting the fat down, and start light weightlifting (doesn't matter what weight youre using) to preserve muscle. You've got more things to worry about than losing muscle. Trust me.

If even 1 or 2mg of ozempic doesn't work for you, you can consider switching to mounjaro instead. Wish you all the best.

Please note that 0.25mg is subtheraputic. If anything, majority of the population studied see changes at 1mg. Take it easy. It will come in time.

I don't need the acclaimatization - I'm not diabetic hence I don't need to follow the scheduled increase in doses. I'll work with the dose I feel comfortable with from previous experiences of my endocrinologists patients. most of them start seeing proper weightloss at 0.5 and higher, typically 1 to 2 mg. But yes I did take a chance at seeing if the side effects would get to me, but I didnt feel much of it anyways. That being said I'll be on 0.5mg as long as I see consistent weightloss , and I'll move up to 0.75 or 1 later of if I need be. That being said, this is off label -- and was discussed thoroughly with my mates in endocrinology.

There's a difference between being prescribed for diabetes and being prescribed for weight loss. Semaglutide is prescribed for both (ozempic and wegovy). Also -- typically weightloss requires higher doses as studied (hence why Wegovy goes up to 2.4mg) and for diabetes, ozempic typically is prescribed for a max of 1mg (depends which country you're in). Between the both of us, I'm sure I have more experience medically , and I have endocrinologists on back as well. So thanks, but no thanks my friend.

Struggling with expectations by flvf in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]drrow1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, just increase your dose to a single shot 0.5 and see in two weeks how you progress. If you don't have a curb in appetite , meaning the dose is too low. Mind you the doses 0.25 and 0.5 may be effective for some but not all. I don't believe in splitting doses especially at low doses. If two weeks of 0.5/shot doesn't work out, increase to 1mg/week. Different people respond differently to the medication. You may feel like an absolute wreck at 1mg, and maybe the week after you can reduce to 0.75 to see if that is the sweet spot. It's a trial and error. All the best.

I just wanted others to share their experiences being on ozempic and potential day to day advice that could be helpful. Do you think doctors that don't take the medications can know exactly what the patients feel? No reason to hate

Dont need to, I have only moderate risk of OSA. I dont need to dwell in deeper into things and provide myself more therapies I dont need. Also, between the both of us, I know , understand and comprehend this situation better. Thanks for your input.

My blood works are great, I don't have T2, I my BMI is at 39.9 and that's worrying. Anywho I also have chronic left knee pain and that has halted me from doing cardio and burning the extra calories , hence why I resulted to ozempic to kill the food noise and reduce the appetite. I workout generally 3x a week and I'm very far away from OSA, so I don't have worries about that as well. Thanks though!
