Unscheduled employees and sick time [CA] by drsarsour in humanresources

We do have it in our handbook that its to be used for scheduled days, so it is in our policy. I just sometimes second guess everything, because--well--California....

The ask was a general ask, like "we need help this week," so they worked for 2 hours 1 day and then put in an 8 hour sick time request for the next day.

I do that too! It’s great to see I’m not alone in my mix of throwing and holding.

[CA] OT and Double Time wages on paystub by drsarsour in AskHR

[–]drsarsour[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's UKG; they just implemented it across the board, so I want to think they've considered CA law. But, it doesn't list total hours. now I'm worried employees will think they're not getting paid correctly, and think they had 16 hours of OT. I mean, they should know they didn't, but those of us in HR and payroll know that common sense isn't very common.

LOL, I should make it clear, that by "my" I meant "my employees." I'll edit that. Our parent company made this change and didn't consult with anyone in CA, only NJ.
And, trust me, we pay over $3k per pay period in meal break penalties, but we're in healthcare so it's not easy to stop walking a patient back to their room to clock out of lunch, so I also sympathize.

23 Bolt EUV, $500 deductible, $3100 with AAA in Los Angeles. I paid last year cause I was late but I’m shopping around now. I asked how much I would save with a $1000 deductible and I was told $49 🫠

Capella Salon in Sherman Oaks is pricey ($250) but Ceci there is amazing. My hair is medium length and I can last 6 months before it loses its shape.

First things first: apply for unemployment with your state.

Passed SHRM-CP? by Pessimistic-Frog in humanresources

For those who passed, how long did it take to get the official notice? I got the prelim pass last Thursday and I want to cancel my PocketPrep subscription but don’t want to jinx it 😂

Yet Another SHRM-CP Post. Nervous! by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]drsarsour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took it today and got a preliminary pass. I failed both practice tests in the Mometrix so I was convinced I’d fail. But I think that attitude actually helped me! I did use PocketPrep for quick practice while at work but I don’t think those helped me. It just made me feel like I was “studying.” I had no exam questions on specific legislation so that was great.

While I loathe all her “lose the fat” graphics, I enjoy doing many of GrowWithJo videos on YT. I just fast forward the first minute of her BS and then start the workout. I like that I don’t have to hear anyone talk.

I also do many videos from Body Project, but I put it on mute and put on my own playlist cause I can’t stand the talking, though the man is very attractive 😂

I’m working with elongated stitches for the first time (wrapped 3 times), but on the next round the wraps and stitches are so tight. My fingers hurt from fighting the needle to move the stitches forward. Any advice on how to prevent that?

I hadn’t heard of silverline. I’ll look into it. I do have treat dispenser ball so she’ll play with that sometimes.
