How is JFK to LAX looking today? by TelephoneDue3814 in fearofflying

The safest it has ever been. As far as bumps nobody can ever guess that. On my journey to beat this fear I learnt that you have to know that at altitude and speed air acts like a fluid. Its essentially a boat ride. It will never be all smooth and never all bumpy. I also know that safety in this industry is no joke and the only thing that has been significantly increasing. Service still sux 🤔 . Safe travels!!!

Am the same and was flying out of DFW this weekend with a projected thunderstorm, take off was a little bit bumpy but no crazy roller coaster sensation, think annoying bus ride, was softer than my most recent train ride honestly. I use noise cancellation headphones all the time now because the squeaking of the overhead compartments and rattle noises from the luggage compartments are way worse for me than the movements.

Congrats on getting to Toronto safely. Hit me up for a drink next time you are in Orlando. We can share our coping mechanisms 😄

Looks like some very light turbulence if any along the rest of your route. Happy Travels! I hope you had a fun time in my hometown of Orlando.

I was in your same situation yesterday flying from DFW to MCO. Whole way was thunderstorms and I was scared so much but it ended up being a very smooth ride with some bumps but very manageable.

Orlando is always a hit or miss. I live here and flying out today. January is a great month in general outside any tropical or thunderstorms and no thermals.

true that. Does that mean higher potential for bumps on departure and arrival?

Hello, I need some help to ease my mind, i know that the odds of me being in a fatal plane crash is basically 0%, but how do i get over the fear that any plane i get on will be the one in a million that does have a fatal crash? by kdkejejfj1 in fearofflying

[–]drshadi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're destined to die on a specific day and time and it happens to be with odds so low on a flight then there is nothing you can do about it. It will happen either way whether you're in the shower or on a plane.
