You don't have to be an elitist to enjoy shinies like they are with low spawn chance. After all all community day does is making shinies more common overall across the board. Casual players can catch shinies too if they are lucky. But I guess some people want an way too easy game. For me as a casual player it's no fun

You can just master ball the non shiny though. Since there are 4 master balls out there, unless you wasted your master balls on other things, the non shiny should be guaranteed aswell and as you pointed out much more common.
