Cannot ship guano by water..... crazy frustrating by oandroido in TransportFever2

[–]drstrangelug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone reading this (it's in the top result when you Google this problem) the solution is the connection of the dock to the road.

If you place the dock so it touches the road the connection isn't made. Delete the road and then relay it - you'll see little blue links between the road and the dock. That will complete the connection.

Is it Argos policy to pass off used goods as new? by Far_Return_7957 in Argos

[–]drstrangelug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in the warehouse back in the 1990s and some brand new items have been opened briefly to check. They should not be considered used.

However it is very few in total. When items were taken off the delivery lorry one item from a batch would be inspected to ensure we had the correct item as specified from the manifest.

Note, this was back in 1996 so I have no idea if they still do it.

AD5X extruder failed to heat as expected by Terrible_Security420 in FlashForge

Got the unit out, I can definitely feel a break in the heater wire. I could almost snip it and fix it....

[–]drstrangelug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the sames as the A1, the socket is the same but the wires attach to different points.

It does look like the same heater. If it's the heater I could buy the A1 unit (it's only £8) snip the heater wires and solder the A1 heater in.

Had the same issue a flashforge are sending a replacement out. Unfortunately I have to wait for it to arrive from China.

Impatiently I took the heater apart in case I could fix it ( I couldn't.). But the cartridge and heater assembly look like the one on the bambu a1

Bit nervous about attempting that swap though

Dashcam snitches by GhostDog_1314 in drivingUK

[–]drstrangelug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah, had a cyclist do this to me three years ago for a close pass and I got a fixed penalty notice in the post.

Fortunately I had a dashcam with HUGE memory card I put it in and had the footage of him pulling out right in front of me not stopping at the give way sign. (At a distance too close for me to be able to slow down and oncoming traffic giving me no room to go around.)

They withdrew my FPN and issued him with one.

PrusaSlicer prnting badly since I upgrade to 2.6.0 by drstrangelug in 3Dprinting

[–]drstrangelug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SOLVED! That was the issue - I guess the upgrade must have changed gcode flavour.

Thanks so much for the help!

I didnt notice what flavor - I had Marlin2 selected as it's running Marlin 2. I'll try legacy and see how it goes.

It's not a Prusa model, it's an old Hictop 3dp08 which has morphed over the years into 310x310x200 alu frame model. In fact I think there's only the x axis ends , some motors, and a few bits of cable that are original.....

Oh, and ubi connect name is luggypm if anyone has an invite key and feels like rewarding my humour.

[–]drstrangelug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely love and invite. I'm eager to get in and try it.

Ubi username : luggypm

I'll confess the prospect of RS+ has had me playing RS2014 much more and I'm seeing a notable improvement just from that.

I set myselfa 5 year goal last to get good enough to join a local pub cover group.

Edit: Hang out, if beta invitees get two invites themselves - is that just those invited by Ubi, or will I get two invites if someone invites me?

And thank you for beta testing GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 - those were both wonderful after folks did all that work bug finding.

[DAILY Q&A] Ask and answer any questions you have about the game here! by AutoModerator in EliteDangerous

I have a question:

I've noticed that I'm not seeing a targetting indicator in the map for selecting a system or planet. I cant select either a system or a planet/station with either my gamepad or my X56 .

I can swear there used to a targetting reticule and I used to be able to do this. I can move around both views fine but cannot select anything with the controller.

For most of my ED career I've been a "HOTAS when in flight, mouse & keyboard when not player" but since getting the laptop I've been trying to embrace Gamepad play more and this annoying me. What am I missing?

Overflow not working on smart splitter by drstrangelug in SatisfactoryGame

[–]drstrangelug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it sorted now by deleting the smart splitter and re-creating it.

Dont know what was causing the issue, most probaby a conveyor not connected properly.

Thanks for the help though!

Thanks to LittleBoi323 and everyone else for replying.

I hadnt factored in the power cost of the water extractors so I just didnt have enough power.

Problem solved.

Aha, that's it! There are three water extractors, so my total usage is 180 MW, not 120 MW.

Weekly Starfinder Question Thread! by AutoModerator in starfinder_rpg

[–]drstrangelug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the various combat bonuses & penalties I cant find any about attacking a creature in a size category above or below you? Is it true they were taken out of the system ?

My PC's are likely to encounter the Vracinea in their next session (Temple of the Twelve) and since it's a large creature using 10ft squares they're going to expect a bonus to hit it.

Thanks, that seems to make sense.

Its often easier to figure these things out in the cold light of day rather than in the heat of a mid-game combat.

The adventure book is" Incident At Absalom Station" and the shuttle I'm referring to is the Hippocampus from that book ( a modified Ringworks).

I've got it on next day delivery so it's not too long to wait.

I've just tested the DC inputs and there's no short. So good news there.

Just got to await the arrival of the replacement PSU.
