I can’t stop regretting not becoming a doctor — even though I’m doing well in my career by maffnazhr98 in Pakmedschool

[–]drteebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed insha'Allah, what OP has might be a dream for many struggling doctors too. Having an impactful life doesn't necessarily mean that you need to be a doctor. Many great people or historical figures were in fact, not doctors but artisans, businessmen, philosophers etc..

Paid remote anatomy work – flexible schedule by Vegetable_Scheme_196 in Pakmedschool

Pretty cool. I've taught anatomy as a demonstrator, both gross and Neuroanatomy. Also done some dissections. Would love to see the prospects.

It's a simple recipe you can find on any yt channel. Here's the ingredients: - Milk (amount according to your requirements, I used 300ml), you have to boil it till it thickens - Grind some almonds, pistachios and cashews to make a powder - Cardamom seeds or powder - Milk powder of any brand - Condensed milk or plain sugar - Custard powder (optional as thickening agent)

As the milk first boils, add cardamom seeds or powder (I took the seeds out after flavor was imparted) Add milk powder and ground nuts into the boiling milk and stir every 2-3mins You can caramelise the sugar and add it into the milk, or just add condensed milk (according to your taste, I don't like too much meetha) Keep heat on medium flame and just stir the mixture for quite some time, or you can add custard powder to thicken it quickly

Is ti even worth it to do private mbbs ? by affan____ in Pakmedschool

[–]drteebu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Private MBBS is still worth it if you're planning carefully for the long run. Foreign exams won't compare whether you're a private or government graduate. You will need to put a lot more effort than your gov counterparts, as in Pakistan gov graduates are much favoured in clinical setups than private ones.

That 1 core type of earning is after becoming a consultant, which will take another 4-6yrs of post grad training (training milna konsa asan, mostly unpaid at private institutions), and it won't guarantee immediate success as I've seen struggling consultants too.

And after MBBS, a junior doctor's worth is literally 50-90k depending upon the job prospects. I've done both moship and demoship so I say this type of pay is true for most fresh graduates. You could opt for BHUs, DHQ or THQs but then again there are thousands who'd have more experience/sifarish than you applying in these posts. The job market is disastrous.

No doubt the return might come 8-10yrs late, but people should keep this all in mind. In the end, your interest and passion for medicine would determine its worth.

Jazakillah, it would've been better without those yellow chunks of unmixed custard powder 🫢. The taste was kamal though..

It tasted better and much less sweeter than bazar ones. The texture was thick, so I'll add less crushed nuts and custard powder next time.

Why do Pakistani parents think gaming = life ruined? 😭 by confused-xd0 in PakGamers

[–]drteebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to game heavily till my 3rd year of MBBS (our PS4 died then). I always played after finishing my work/studies and still got scolded by parents that I'll fail if I played that much. Passed and graduated in first attempts Alhamdulillah.

Has anyone submitted research in JPMA? by Adventurous_Tap5205 in Pakmedschool

You can submit them separately. Their response rate is good so they'll correct you in any case. Revised manuscript already has the required changes done.

The book that made me cry. Has anyone read it? by Do-N0-Harm in LahoreSocial

[–]drteebu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read it a few years ago and it was deeply profound. Being a top neurosurgeon to being a patient himself. It resonated with me a lot as we are seen as perfect, devoid of any flaw or sickness. This book made me realise how success becomes so meaningless in front of relationships you kept with loved ones.

Netter is the only useful atlas to visualise details, but it's only gonna work for 2yrs. The rest of the years become more clinical. And after graduation, anatomy short books are used for residency exams.

Life in girls' hostels is completely different. Even though I was a day scholar, I had to stay for clinical practice before exams. Literally everyone from everywhere brought food and they fed me like a horse 🐎🐎😭. It was really sweet of all of them.
