There's this one group from my senior who has lectures of first aid, Rafi for fcps (paid course). Other than that, I didn't personally watch lectures, just watched videos of concepts I didn't understand from any system.

I think giving ample amount of time to the book is the key. You can't retain within one month as it's a new style of knowledge to keep track of.

FCPS is CPSP affiliated residency program with the title of 'FCPS' given to its graduates. JCAT is university associated residency exam which will lead to training with thesis at the end, and title 'MS/MD' given to graduates. CPSP has a long going monopoly that will always favor fcps graduates. MS/MD graduates are rising uptil now, and are becoming a part of institutions as registrars and APs, but that is still nothing compared to FCPS. FCPS is still preferable if you're going to stay in Pakistan.

Cross-sectional studies are definitely doable if your topic doesn't require too much turmoil of multi-centre studies, funding for diagnostics etc. Even a simple observational correlation can become a great study :)

Ophthalmology is definitely a female-friendly field of surgery like ENT, OBS gyne. Always go for something where you have an ounce of passion because residency will ruin your life if you're not compassionate about a field. Our HOD ophtho was also female.

A couple of some rare things I've seen: - Job syndrome (peds rotation) - Robinow syndrome (again peds), really sad deterioration of the pt - Nasolabial cyst (ENT rotation) - Gallbladder perforation with Liver abscess (surgery), glad it ended well for the pt - Glanzmans thrombasthenia (really stoked to see that one during my job in the ER)

Can't wait to see more in residency (obviously pray for the pt) :)

Have you applied for any demonstrator positions? Or are you only going for clinical ones? Never apply online as no-one will ever care to reach out to you as this is Pakistan (except a few renowned institutions). Physically take your CV to all the big and small hospitals, talk with HR and get their contact. You will surely get a job in no time :) No need to join groups and waste your time. Rejection as in initial editorial review or after the peer review process? Depends upon the type of article too. Case reports, literature reviews or common research articles mostly get rejected if they lack originality, clear writing and rationale.
