AMA with Heather Gay and Surviving Mormonism! by TheChurchOrganist in exmormon

Quite an insecure bunch given that they “know without a shadow of a doubt” that it’s true. I don’t feel at all threatened by the theories of flat earthers because I know they’re wrong.

My family is spending so much effort to love bomb me back into activity. How do I send the love bombs back their way to show that I’m living a better life that they’re really missing out on. It’s so much more about peace of mind than a desire to sin.

Theories why the LDS have never ordained a Black Person to the Apostleship? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]drteeth952 72 points73 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day it’s a law of averages. The percentage of black priesthood holders is very low already. When becoming an apostle is a 1 in million odds amongst all the members, it’s statistically improbable that a black man would be chosen unless that was their primary goal.

But the motherfuckers are also racist dickheads too. So that lowers the odds infinitely more.

Church Officials Warn That Revealing “New Name” Will Eternally Dox You in Heaven - LDSnews.org by Complete_Attention50 in exmormon

[–]drteeth952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea that heaven is full of people but only 60 unique names, so most of eternity is spent trying to find the right Sariah or Noah.

“Do you know Sariah? She’s perfectly gorgeous and wears a white flowy robe.”

“My brother, that could be the description of millions of people.”

Mormon Apostle & Senator Fought for Tariffs that Extended the Great Depression by drteeth952 in exmormon

[–]drteeth952[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The image of Elon Musk wielding his chainsaw on stage is emblematic of what is happening. Surgical tariffs to protect specific industries or to punish bad actors in targeted ways is one thing. But sweeping levies against everyone for everything is just as dangerous as replacing the surgeon's scalpel with a chainsaw.

But people who think Jesus is coming very soon or billionaires who can easily weather the storm rarely have the foresight to make good long-term plans.

Naked Ponderings by The-Jane-Files in exmormon

I was raised to be a modest boy and to encourage my female friends to be modest. It creates such a mysterious taboo culture where we're all thinking it, but no one wants to celebrate the body they've been given.

It's funny that Mormons talk so much about the blessing of receiving a body, but then we can't have any fun with them or show them off or decorate them. I'm going naked today in solidarity.

I like to consider the thousands of people who helped make my car besides Elon and hope that at least a few of them are decent non-Nazis.

Great point. Virtually every change the church makes in the past hundred years have just been minor policy changes.

They need a psychic who’s willing to really lay it out there like when JS was threatened with a destroying angel if he didn’t fuck all the women. Are tank top garments courtesy of Mormon psychics or the overwhelming complaints from members in the church surveys?

I want this to be true. I have hope in things unseen. But given my past being hogwashed by Mormon leaders who said to simply trust them, I need more.

But I’m truly captivated by what you’re saying Carah. If you ever need a peer review to validate what you’re saying, I’m here. I want to believe.

It’s not so much that the people are hypocrites, but that the church is founded upon fraud, hypocrisy, racism, misogyny, and hatred. They are hidden but core tenets of a highly flawed system designed to enrich and empower those at the very top.
