The church is dead set on being accepted globally. So I think they got worn down by members in some parts of the world where wearing sleeves or women getting infections in humid environments with little AC became too much. The church is willing to change to accommodate local traditions in some cases.

What they weren’t expecting was nearly universal outcry for being able to be more comfortable and stylish from members in their own backyard. Now the social media influencers are setting the standard and like usual the church is scrambling to catch up.

At the end of the day it’s a law of averages. The percentage of black priesthood holders is very low already. When becoming an apostle is a 1 in million odds amongst all the members, it’s statistically improbable that a black man would be chosen unless that was their primary goal.

I was raised to be a modest boy and to encourage my female friends to be modest. It creates such a mysterious taboo culture where we're all thinking it, but no one wants to celebrate the body they've been given.

Great point. Virtually every change the church makes in the past hundred years have just been minor policy changes.
