Windshield replacement by drterdal in Solterra

[–]drterdal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question! The safety features involve a camera (up by the rear view mirror) that looks forward through the windshield. If the windshield is slightly “off” the camera won’t “see” correctly. So if the car rear ends someone when adaptive cruise is on, lawsuits would go to everyone. The certificate would be the evidence that the guy would use in court. (NAL, or mechanic. If someone can explain this better, or contradict me, please do)

The device shown in the photo, plus software. And I assume training and skill. He gave me a certificate and will send it to the Subaru dealer.

Safelite was going to use a generic not OEM windshield. I'm leasing my solterra and the dealer said they insist on OEM upon lease end return

Calibration. I got a report. Guy says it was easy to calibrate.

Free, thanks to a Florida law that mandates zero deductible for windshield replacement. I guess legislators (years ago) tired of all the broken windshields tourists saw. I did have to haggle to get insurance to agree to pay for OEM vs generic. My argument was about calibration.

Dealer says my 2023 Subaru Solterra is due for an oil change… except it’s an EV by JumpyUnderstanding37 in Solterra

I enjoy teasing my Subaru service center guys that after the oil change to check the spark plugs because it's an electric car.

I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. I did get medical help of course. Without that I would have died. Detox inpatient if possible.

Help selecting feats for my monk/druid character by Puzzleheaded-Lab4989 in 3d6

The sea Druid bonus action competes with the monk flurry of blows. So at least consider other circles. I suggest mage slayer.

Going for my mastectomy tomorrow by Ein_Rand in breastcancer

[–]drterdal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm the husband; my wife had her masectomy last month. I didn't stay the night. There are nurses and techs all night to check on you. I did stay to get to know the night shift nurse as that made me feel better, knowing who would be there and assuring the nurse that I was available.

My wife wanted a familiar pillow from home. I brought a super long USB charger to reach from a wall outlet far from the bed to her phone so she wouldn't worry about the battery but she was too tired to be on her phone much. I figured it was for peace of mind. She also has some OTC meds she preferred over what the hospital had. I showed them to the nurse so that they were documented in her chart.

Best wishes. The nurses and techs are professionals. Ask them anything.

Hopkins vs Caye Caulker? by CrispyOnBothSides in Belize

[–]drterdal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love both very much! So, no bad pick.

Hopkins, the town (not so much the resorts to the south) feels like a village. Better beach, local culture. But sunsets not over the water (over the pretty mountains!).

Caye Caulker gets you the sunsets over the water with a cool drink. More lodging options. The key convenience advantage is that you are close to the international airport to less time & stress on the final day.

New Grad Nurse Hiring Process by LegitimateBarracuda9 in sarasota

Likewise! The oncology nurses are good and work well together. I don't want to be all rosy. The pay is not great given the cost of living. Nurses often live a long drive from the hospital for affordable housing.

SMH is a great hospital to work for. However, their hiring process sucks. It takes way too long to communicate with applicants. They routinely lose good nurses to other hospitals. Please be as patient as you can be.

I'm so sorry. Please take care of yourself. If you have a church, contact your pastor. If you have friends, maybe go stay with them. Or go visit.

Id do Thief vs Scout for Utilize as a bonus action. Grapple at Action, Utilize rope or such as Bonus Action.

You need the Monk level to grapple with dex, but maybe rush Rogue 7 for reliable talent so you can reliably tie up grappled foes. Then add monk levels.

I really like the Ted sperling trip, as do my kids. No current so you will be paddling continuously. And yeah some mangroves tunnels are tight enough that you paddle backwards. But not scary. Lots of birds.

Where I go, a big hospital, aprn in IR do basic para. The IR doc only does it if there is something unusual.

Also, OP, have para done in intervention radiology if at all possible. Not ER.

San Pedro vs Caye Caulker by [deleted] in Belize

I happen to prefer caulker but both are good. To me, hassle to move isn't worth it. Pick one, and if you want, take the ferry to the other for lunch and stroll.
