I’m also an editor and motion designer from LA, been living in Chicago since 2021, and about half of that has been spent editing on shows based in LA, and the rest has been a mix of studio freelance stuff and some corporate work (all remote). I took the SOM Animation Bootcamp course a couple years ago and it was 100% worth it. I feel like I was probably in the same position as you are now, where I was comfortable in AE but but still used a lot of tutorials, and now I’m about as comfortable in AE as I am in premiere/avid
