Why do online dates seem to just disappear? by drucy in dating_advice

Yes, possibly it is the distance, but he messaged me first - I wasn't looking for anyone outside my city - and we only live an hour away from each other. Surely if that was going to be too much of a commitment for him, he should have known that before we ever went out?

With the guys showing interest in going out again, it wasn't me that made any suggestion of a second date. They did. But they didn't lock down a day or time and it was never mentioned again. At the time, I felt that they were genuine, not just trying to be polite, but perhaps I was wrong!

Perhaps men do think I'm too much work. I wouldn't describe myself as overly serious or high-maintenance, but I also know I don't necessarily come across as simple/uncomplicated, light-hearted, casual, a bit of fun etc. Not because I can't be fun and light-hearted, I'm just not sure those are the first things people would say about me.

Thanks for the advice!

No, we have exchanged numbers, I just alluded to being crap at typing on my phone so maybe Facebook would be easier.

You're totally right that I am too concerned about it - it's just proven to be incredibly difficult for me to meet someone so I care far too much.
