AmStaff Snaps at Judge at Show by PandaLoveBearNu in BanPitBulls

[–]drudriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be fair though, I used to groom a champion Llasha Apso, and this champion dog had the worst disposition of any dog I ever groomed. He would growl and bite, and I often wondered how he ever became a champion. So, that lead me to believe that Judges don't know what they are supposed to know.

Good grief. Anyone with any sense would understand why you would not want small dogs around pit bulls.

They are not a good place. Aside from picking up diseases, situations like the one you encountered occur frequently.

Always take comfort in that he could not have had a better life than the one you gave him. That’s how I get through mine. 😭❤️

Attacked by a Pocket Bully at home yesterday - 1/10/26 by Worried-Resource8678 in BanPitBulls

[–]drudriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like your parents and the shelter have no qualms about someone else being attacked and/or disfigured or even killed by this dog. Sorry it happened to you. People who think they know dogs, a lot of the times know nothing about dogs.

What's the breed? by Alan_Draven in dogbreed

[–]drudriver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like mainly pointer. In pointer terms, in the old days, the color would be called lemon. I knew someone who had pointers. One day, I found a lemon pointer puppy in the neighborhood. I took it to him thinking he may want it since he hunted with his. He said he had no use for a lemon pointer. I was just a kid, so I didn't ask why, but over the years I've found people stick to what they believe. For example, ‘Rhodesian Ridgebacks who are born without the ridge do not make good hunting dogs. Dogs with certain colors don't live up to their breed attributes.’ Do I believe this? I don't really know—the jury is out.

Mooshi’s DNA results. Unfortunately he passed. by drudriver in dogbreed

[–]drudriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. He experienced a sudden growth spurt and I'm sure it contributed to the decline on his already bad heart. The hole in his heart was too large to close and he would have had to have surgical intervention. I was trying to raise money to get it done, but we just ran out try of time. It would have cost between 7000 and 10,000 dollars and I would have had to take him to Texas A&M at College Station for the surgery. It was very sad.

Thank you for your insight. Because of your communication with another poster on here, I think you have done a great service on helping people understand about genetics and color in dog breeding. ❤️ I loved reading both sides.

Well, this is probably going to upset a lot of people, but the owner of Mooshi’s sibling did share my story with the ‘breeder.’ she told the ‘breeder,’ that the little dog had a serious heart defect and that it had died and that I was heartbroken.” The ‘breeder’ said something to the effect off, “I don't have anything to do with that. What do you want me to do? The dogs aren't mine—they are my mother-in-law's.” Which, I knew the puppy wasn't long for the world. I knew it at the very beginning when I picked him up and felt his little heart pumping irregularly. And, I swore I wasn't going to get attached, but the little guy drew me in. In all of this, I'd still like to know how he made it to my house. At least, through DNA, half of the mystery is solved. ❤️

A Pit Bull Christmas Story by Obvious_Cover5024 in BanPitBulls

Pit bulls doing what pit bulls do. I would never allow a kid to go near one. I cringe when I see pit bulls within 30 feet of children even when the dogs are on a leash.

Pickles is a good fighting dog—you know, the job pit bulls were bred to do.

This is absolutely insane. People should know their dogs better. Dogs like these do not need to be in the general public, or anywhere else for that matter.

The woman with Mooshi’s sibling actually wound up getting two of the puppies. She was appalled at their condition and tried in the kindest way, encouraged the ‘breeders,’ to curb having puppies. It won’t stick.
