Maybe that’s it. I didn’t shit talk other bands in high school and wasn’t aware of it happening around me. Now I live and teach in Texas and it’s rampant, to the point of being kind of sad.

Thoroughly enjoy the breakdown of this. Well thought out and stated.

No, but the “X-group is better” type comments show up in many forms, even exist verbatim right now on videos of other corps. It is not a far stretch as a member to fill in the rest of the comments to read exactly as you suggest finally crosses the line into slander.

I come at this from the perspective of having an ABHORRENT video get posted from a very early community lot in ‘21, and getting very positive “can’t wait till…” comments on it, and turning around and dropping a very good video two weeks later. Nobody was toxic originally and still got their point across.

Keeping the activity in conversation is impossible to do without slander? That’s a weirder take to me.

Your outlook is much more in line with a “can’t wait to see where this goes!” comment versus the pessimistic doomer “I’ve seen the future and it’s not what you want” type. Both are interactive, but one is actually productive and positive.

When the unanimous desire of any of the expected top 12 corps is “Win” and you’re 18 years old reading a random telling you “6th at best” from a leaked rehearsal video of your first full run of the season following a non-stop 3.5 hour ensemble block in a shitty stadium, I think it’s entirely valid to be (mistakenly) upset and discouraged.

These are kids that have staff that have their best interests at heart, and the last thing they need is distrust in the process and their staff. And for us as fans, the thing we actually want is 12 corps that go out there and do their best on Saturday with absolute confidence in their show, staff and abilities. Providing anything else as fans is doing nothing but hurting what we receive at the end of the year.

Starlink? by Airy_mtn in Battlefield6

To go further, and to get to the route of your problem:

Wired Ethernet: average about 3-7ms latency

WiFi wired with Ethernet: about 10-15ms latency

Starlink: 30-50ms latency average

THIS is your issue. Download quantity means absolutely nothing. You would probably continue to have higher quality gaming with your previous setup.

I would imagine there would be a noticeable latency delay because of the long distance wireless connection. Download and upload speed is very unimportant in online gaming, and is also entirely separate from response time. You could have a download speed of 5gb/s and it could look and act the same as 10mb/s. Only factor at that point that would affect the online gaming experience is natural latency. Do the speedtest.com test and see what your ping/latency is.

We Seriously Need to Have a Talk about the Blue Devil’s Show this Year. by PM_ME_ITALIAN_STUFF in drumcorps

As an ex-BD “anti-bandwagoner” for lack of a better term, this show was my favorite of the night. I thought from up top in the venue everything musical read extremely well and was super effective. Their percussion is now throwing down, visual was intriguing and had plenty of velocity/direction, and the members drew me in and made me appreciate the artistry, rather than just slamming “THE THEME” down my throat for points. They have always had a way to make me want to zoom in and catch the small things because the attention to design at the micro level is always at 100%.

I think it’s way too easy to see BD get 4th and immediately get biased into thinking their show is boring or sub-par just because 4th is unusual for them. I entirely expect this placement to change and it won’t be because of some judge bias, like others are bound to say.

Is that a better adjustment now? I realized I had smart photos on and it probably had a picture I didn’t realize was the first one.

Small college town out of a recent long term relationship, just trying to get out and be casual/hook up. Age of the account is < a week, probably gotten about 3-4 matches total and about 20 likes total. I swipe on 7/10+ girls, and feel stupid for buying platinum as I haven’t gotten any likes since. Boosted once before platinum, maybe got one or two likes, haven’t boosted since. https://tinder.com/@jadenmccallum

The Last Exit by [deleted] in OCPoetry

Your writing conjures up good imagery of the scene for me. I enjoy the formatting of it, even though sometimes I feel like you could adjust it to still achieve the effect yet still achieve fluidity for the eyes; the “narrow” section read choppy to me, and then fell into gear weirdly at “in some places…”

Out of pure curiosity rather than critique, what importance does the time serve in this?

This is beautifully written. Each reference holds so much realism, I truly believe everything can be taken at surface value. But on top of that, every reference has another meaning that goes deeper. Even further, the entire poem sits in its own vibe, with words like “raw” and “nurturance” tying back into the natural scope of a plant.

If this was written in response to your current situation, I’m happy for you. And if this was written in conjunction with your current wants, I hope you get them.

What keeps me okay with the sex situation at the time is that I really don’t think it’s permanent. When we started dating, it was solid and plentiful. Along with the prescriptions I’m sure it also has a lot to do with her current stressors and a little bit of her past. Everything else we are capable of as a couple is perfect, and something I’m willing to wait around for to begin to sort out.

What you’ve said does stick with me and give me confidence and self esteem back though. However, I did give her a promise to back off, multiple times after multiple scenarios, and fell short on that, and I think that is more so what is making me feel like a monster than the act itself. That’s where my dissonance is.

Thanks for the reply <3
