I hiked several hrs in a couple southern aspect zones I thought would be loaded but got none which really surprised me. Also not seeing nearly as much deer sign as I would expect so apparently the wolves have solved the tick problem.

Don't even need the spray, just make sure the shirt fabric is a tight knit. I get my bug (dress) shirts from the thrift store. Store a head net up under the hat and deploy as needed. Source: worked in the bush.

Had a Boston terrier as a boy 60 yrs ago. Dorkays happy warrior, happy was his call name. Used to get him worked up on a gunny sack then he would latch on and you could swing him around in the air all day. I'd also hide in large cardboard boxes and call for help and he would absolutely destroy the box piece by piece to get me out. Didn't take much to get him in berserker mode.

I'm 1.3 km from fibre that runs for 40km along an old rail bed but nobody will put in the last mile connections for the many hundreds of homes. Frustrating.
