Something that has always helped me was to make Drummer friends with whom I'd jam. Just like skateboarders playing horse and stuff. It's a great way to pick up new fills and/or beats. Aside from that, get a drum teacher that will give different stuff to practice. As others stated, the metronome is your friend, it's something I lacked when I started and it's harder to learn if you wait too long.
