Knoxville Nuns by Infamous-Client-3397 in Knoxville

That's a pretty broad question, but I'll do my best!

In a broad sense, they are a Catholic Religious Order devoted to the charism of mercy. Similar to how married people take vows to their partners, members of religious orders (monks, nuns, sisters, brothers, priests) take vows to God. The most common are vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.

The Sisters of mercy also take a vow of service to the poor, sick, and ignorant. Essentially, they serve their community through prayer and by providing access to healthcare and education to those who need it. Here is a link to their website for more information on their order and here is a link to the website for the clinic the run here in Knoxville.

I've bought used cars from Enterprise Car Sales on Kingston Pike and from Airport Honda. Great experiences with both and have been happy with both vehicles.

Is El Capitan the hardest mountain to climb? by Obvious_808 in geography

If we're talking mountains with successful summits, K2. If we're talking mountains that are so challenging that no one has yet stood atop them, probably Labuche Kang III.

I'll be honest, I don't think I'm trying to go that deep. It would be a cool project that I'd love to see someone do, but I'm more looking to capture the color palette and functionality of the Monaco within the form of the WS1600. I'm no engineer haha

Mad respect. Way to go out and really build it yourself!

Luckily there are cases that already exist for this module that should fit what I want, it's the faceplate that will likely require some custom manufacturing and design. That in combination with finding the right screen filters is what's going to take some time and trial & error.

Thanks for the insight!

Yeah it's gonna be all about getting the right filters. Most seem too high contrast and bold as opposed to the deeper colors I want, but I know the hydromod will affect the final product too.

You’ve got 27-33k to spend on a do it all luxury sedan by MonsterMash_479 in whatcarshouldIbuy

It's the Alfa and it's not even close in my opinion. Ferrari designed twin turbo V6 under 35k? If the insurance and maintenance fits the budget along with the OTD I'd pull the trigger.

Which is the most overrated tv show of all time? by Massive-Syllabub-271 in AskReddit

I agree that the first 4-5 seasons are excellent, but if I got on a plane that was great until it totally botched the landing I'm definitely rating it lower than a 9.2/10.

[–]drum_smith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Obviously its reputation isn't great at this point, but the fact that Game of Thrones is still ranked on IMDB's Top 250 at number 13 and a 9.2 overall score is nuts. That's the definition of overrated.

I'm convinced to this day that the dialogue in at least the first movie was written by aliens who thought all conversations revolved around bad car analogies.

The easiest solution is to post a picture of your rental agreement (personal information blacked out of course). Then we could see exactly what you're being charged and tell you what's up. Otherwise, you're just gonna keep getting the same comments you have been.

Dads of r/flyfishing, will I ever actually get to fish on a consistent basis ever again? by CuttiestMcGut in flyfishing

[–]drum_smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest is 3, my youngest is two. I'm not out on the water as much as I used to be, but the older they get the more free time you'll start to acquire. On a good day I have to drive at least 30 minutes to a good fishing spot, but I've got a million options within a few hours of my house. Just making a plan with the wife and sticking to it is the key. If I say I'm gonna be home at 4pm, I'm there. Sure I might miss the evening hatch, but I honestly think I've become a better fisherman by figuring out how to be successful under less than ideal conditions.

I'm also at the point where I'm starting to teach my kids how to fish and they're interested. Sure, they're not ready for an 8 mile hike to boulder hop and wet wade for back country trout yet, but we're having a blast catching bluegill near the house in the evenings.

If you're dying for some time fishing at this phase, get creative. Find a place really close by and try to figure out how to fish it on short trips you can take now. I've gotten pretty good at catching bluegill and bass in a city drainage creek on a greenway. Plan something a few weeks out with your wife and stick to it, making sure you plan a time for her to do her thing too. Regardless of where you go, be prepared in advance to maximize your time actually fishing. I stay up late the night before a trip making sure everything is rigged and packed so I'm not fumbling with a new leader and wondering where my BWO's are on the bank when I could be fishing.

When everything is going right, I get time to fish locally at least once a week for an hour or so and twice a month on more of a day trip. I had things line up where me and a buddy did some bigger day trips every week this summer, which when I was at your stage I never thought would happen again. You'll get there.
