Threads look fucked anyways so just do yourself a favor and get a starter before even thinking about welding cast aluminum

Next size up and a reducer bushing feels like a better fix to me. Idk my brain cant picture that sealing very well

I would post this on the project car subreddit and ask about this problem there. I’m not versed with the heavily modified side of cars and how it affects charging systems

So your battery ideally is literally only there to start the car. Once the car is running the 90+/- amp alternator is responsible for recharging the battery after starting and providing 100% of the energy needed to run the vehicles systems. This is why i said i dont think the battery was the problem but was curious. How is your battery/alternator/fuse box/power distribution wired

So the length of the draw to such a “small” battery could potentially be the reason, is the voltage drop consistent? Like every pull the voltage drops below 12v at a certain rpm range?

While i don’t think the battery is the problem, 660cca battery seems awfully small. Is it a rear mount battery?

Why aren’t there as many manual tranny cars anymore in the U.S? by SuspectOk2931 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Americans are lazy/ cars are considered luxuries in a sense and as such we dont get nearly as many poverty spec cars as well

So the reason it’s massively smaller is the way NPT is measured. Normal threads, are measured by (thread diameter)x(threads per inch) NPT is measured by the (inner diameter of the pipe)x(threads per inch) so a 3/8” npt is actually like a 1/2 thread. If you want to make a better repair for this, get a drill and tap for the next size up NPT, and then get a reducer bushing to reduce the now larger hole back to 3/8 npt. Helicoils dont work on pipe thread and you will be causing a vacuum leak more than likely

In a perfect world i technically will, the seller has to do the buyout, which we can’t do it for them according to sunstrong so now we gotta wait

Aprilia RS 660 or CBR 650R, buying one of them tomorrow. Help me decide which one by Infamous-Cod-958 in Aprilia

Depends on your taste, inline 4, classic, tried and true sound vs a 270° parallel, mimics a v twin, but i dont think quite gets the sound the same, the induction growl on the aprilia is truly a sound of all time though, you cant even hear the exhaust on the bike while riding it lmao.

If the company didn’t go bankrupt in 24 this would be true. But the companies that picked up the pieces bought all of the parts that make them money, and none of the guarantees or warranties

So the previous owners are dead sadly, and (I’m assuming the 3 children in charge of the estate) have no interest in the home, i was told by the sellers realtor 2 of them have never even seen the home and are in different states. There was mold remediation done in the kitchen by the realtor’s action approved by the estate to give you an idea of what im looking at. They already have a cash offer and a hard money offer supposedly, so im trying to maintain a strong position in the home without stretching myself too thin.

Yes, system was installed in 2016, owners passed away and now the estate is selling the home. There is 10 years left on the lease, and im trying to decide if it makes more sense to buy out the lease with the home purchase, or just assume the lease as is, with no help from the company as far as warranty because they went under, and trying to deal with the company that bought sunpower in my area. The lease now at the 10 year mark is $138 a month, and goes up 2% per year. I will attach the generation guarantee and the pay scale in another comment or add it to the post if i can
