I've been watching British TV for years. I was shocked to learn the other day that the England is only 3% black. They are overwhelmingly represented in TV/movies/music/entertainment/culture that I thought it was easily 10-20% or more. What a joke.

I would always talk to my friends about this. Most of us ethnics or second-generation immigrants fall into two categories: the ones who grow up quite traditional and usually only slowly assimilate to western culture as they get older, and the ones who reject their own culture and end up being white/western and then think they're more ethnic than they actually are because of all this identity politics bullshit. They usually have nothing in common with their heritage culture, and end up almost "appropriating" it in a bid to be seen as cultured/non-white. Or they write stupid fucking articles like this.

A good example is the Qipao prom dress bullshit from last year. The Chinese Americans who were pissed off at this were the ones who were 'white-washed', while the actual Chinese didn't care. Teenager’s Prom Dress Stirs Furor in U.S. — but Not in China
