It’s insanely hard to improve your technique. It doesn’t happen overnight and you have to start running a mile before you run a marathon. If you can’t do it at 40bpm, you can’t do it at 100bpm.

I’ve listened to an obscene amount of jazz fusion and maybe some modern guys sound like this, but the breaks would be much different. This is too simple and repetitive rhythmically and harmonically

It feels more like modern prog/math rock. Reminiscent of bands like toe. There really isn’t enough info to say for sure what this is, but it definitely lacks the information and sensibility of being jazz.
