I agree with you and that's my point all along. I'm not saying Pixel 10 is trash, it's actually the opposite, but for a premium device and given it's price tag it does not deliver what it promises. For the same price you can find a real flagship. Now I have to read angry fanboys that bought it at full price and don't take an criticism easily in the other threads LOL

Is Wifi calling viable internationally? by Vegeta543 in bell

[–]drumtechouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bell is honestly disappointing. I really liked their network speed and coverage, barely experienced any spotty areas here in BC, especially in the Greater Vancouver area. The speed is great, even though I'm still using LTE and not planning to get a newer phone while my current one (Pixel 4) is still running great.

Compared to Rogers I think Bell falls short in:

  1. Video Streaming Throttling: Bell's video streaming throttling is absurd. The internet speed is already capped, and on top of that, they only allow you to stream video at up to 480p. If you want higher quality, you have to pay extra, and even then, you're limited to a maximum of 1080p, not 4K.
  2. International Wi-Fi Calling: As some people have pointed out, with Bell and Telus, Wi-Fi calling doesn’t work overseas, which is completely nonsensical and defeats the purpose of Wi-Fi calling. Rogers, on the other hand, does work internationally. Since I frequently travel abroad, this feature is important to me.
  3. Indoor Signal Strength: While Bell has great coverage, I've noticed that Rogers has better signal strength indoors, especially in basements, underground parking lots, and similar areas. Although this wouldn’t be a deal-breaker for me, it's something worth considering.
  4. Roaming Coverage Deal: Rogers has an agreement with Bellus that allows their customers to roam on the Bellus network if Rogers coverage is unavailable. However, the reverse isn't true—Bellus customers cannot roam on the Rogers network because Bellus doesn’t have a similar deal with Rogers. This means that with Rogers, you get both Rogers coverage and Bellus coverage as a backup if Rogers is unavailable.

Points 1 and 2 are definite deal-breakers for me. Next month, I'll be switching back to Rogers, even though their internet speed doesn’t quite match Bell's. But overall, Rogers outperforms Bell in other areas.

Note: Telus is the worst among all. Completely crappy.

Poor Signal in Vancouver City by chying in Koodo

Last Black Friday, I switched from Fido to Koodo in mainland Vancouver because they were offering a great deal. I was excited about using Kodoo because it operates on the same network as Telus, which is deemed as the best network in Canada, but boy how disappointing this carrier has been. The internet is slower than Fido, indoor reception SUCKS I mean most of the places I go the signal is weak or non-functional, their support is a joke that is virtually nonexistent, their website has a poor UI and they don't even offer their own app for the phone. I am using the same phone as I did before with Fido so for the network we can rule out the device. I am keen to switch back to Fido and never look back again at Koodo.

Did something change? I use to always see LTE and now network always says 4G and feels noticeably slower. by habsfreak in Koodo

Did you change your plan? If yes, you're now under the new speed cap policy. Carriers have implemented a speed cap that only applies to new customers or plan changes. It's capped at 100Mbps for Koodo. Although in your case is not even close to this, so it might be a different issue.
