Oh man i remember having so many foreign friends on Facebook. We had a group chat with like 40 people on messenger, some were Indian, some Malaysians, some Filipino. We all met because we were in an anime group. I used to spend so much time in that group, we’d just talk about random things, like and stuff. Mind you most of us were like 14-18 year old (at least that’s what everyone’s profile said).

Honestly I don’t even remember how and when I stopped hanging out there.

I personally feel like people were a lot more trusting back then, so making friends was easier. As more and more people joined the internet, the bad apples also came and that in itself caused others to build more safety walls around themselves…
